We hope you’re having a great summer break. We’re all together in Edinburgh soaking up the shows and enjoying being inspired.

One of the bittersweet parts of the end of term is watching our musicians and dancers flying the nest. Isla must be one of our longest standing students she started her dancing and drama at The Dan Tien even before we moved to The Harebreaks just over 10 years ago. Here she is with her piano and singing teacher Augusta and Lindsey one of our directors. She will be off to study veterinary science at university in Septemeber, we all wish you the best of luck Isla!

On Saturday we held our first workshops with . We had 2 workshops, for juniors and seniors, with Sabrina, a very lovely dancer from the company. The students took part in a technique class and then learnt choreography from their recent show. It was a fantastic afternoon and the feedback from our students was really positive. Keep your eyes peeled as we’ll announce the next one soon! 👀

In our ballet classes over the last week of term we’ve been giving our students time to work on their own choreography, which they love! We adored this dance by two of our Grade 1 pupils. They showed such creativity, musicality, expression and wonderful technique. Well done girls ☺️

Congratulations to Connie who, after a successful audition, has just found out that she’s made it into the Junior Chorus for this year’s pantomime 👏🏼
She’ll be performing throughout December and we can’t wait to go and support her!! 🥰🤩

Congratulations Devlini! She passed her ABRSM Grade 4 piano exam with a Merit what a fantastic result and testament to her hard work and practice. We’re heading into exam season once again, and we’re wishing all of our GCSE and A Level students the best of luck along with all our instrumental and vocal students taking exams in June and July.

Are you one of our next Tiny Tims?

We are looking for children aged 9+ (and under 4’6”) to play one of our Tiny Tims in the 2024/2025 production of A Christmas Carol.

Please note that this one role will be shared between four children, and in our production, the role of Tiny Tim is played by a disabled child so applicants without a disability will not be considered.

Well done to Seyara and Kiana on their very successful first piano exams both taking the ABRSM Prep Test when they were 6 and 7 respectively! They’re nearly ready to take their next exam. Fantastic comments which are sure to be repeated for their next grade!

We’ve also had lots of music exams happening over the past few weeks - William came out of his very first piano exam beaming! Even at Initial Test students have to prepare three pieces, scales and be ready to tackle unseen sight reading and aural tests. Well done William on all your preparation and hard work! 👏🏼🎶

3 days of dance exams all done now, finishing with ballet yesterday - well done everyone! It’s action time on show work now 🎬 how exciting! 🤩

Soni participated in the Watford Festival - Congratulations on your Bronze medal! 👏🏼

We are bursting with pride at receiving some exceptional LAMDA exam results in Acting, Verse & Prose & Public Speaking. 🎭

Our students work incredibly hard, in their 1:1 sessions, to delve into characterisation, develop strong speaking skills & deliver engaging speeches.

The possibilities really are endless with LAMDA & we are already enjoying working towards the next exams.
