Understanding the signs of emotional abuse is crucial for your well-being. Here are the 7 signs to watch out for:
Manipulation
Gaslighting
Isolation
Verbal aggression
Control tactics
Blame-shifting
Intimidation
If you are experiencing these signs or similar, please contact us at Thrive Youth CIC. Recognising these signs is the first step toward healing and setting healthy boundaries.
Love bombing may seem like a fairytale beginning, showering you with attention, gifts, and affection. However, beneath its glittering surface lies a potentially harmful dynamic, especially for young adults and teenagers.
It’s crucial to understand that love bombing is a manipulative tactic used to gain control and influence over someone’s emotions and behaviors. It creates an intense and overwhelming sense of attachment early on, making it difficult to see the relationship clearly.
While the initial rush of attention can feel exhilarating, it often masks unhealthy behaviors and red flags. It can lead to dependency, isolation from friends and family, and a loss of personal boundaries.
Recognising the signs of love bombing is essential for maintaining healthy relationships. Be wary of excessive flattery, rapid declarations of love, and intense displays of affection, especially in the early stages of a relationship.
Building genuine connections takes time and mutual respect. It’s about nurturing trust, communication, and shared values. Remember, real love is patient, respectful, and allows room for individual growth.
Educate yourself and your peers about the dangers of love bombing. Prioritize self-awareness, set boundaries, and seek support from trusted friends and family members if you suspect you’re experiencing it.
If you are experiencing something similar, contact us at Thrive Youth CIC.
By fostering a culture of awareness and empowerment, we can create safer and healthier relationship dynamics for ourselves and future generations
Today, we want to shed light on an issue that affects far too many lives: social media bullying. Behind the screens, words become weapons, and hearts bear the scars of relentless cruelty. But it doesn't have to be this way. Let's ignite a movement of empathy and understanding, where every comment is a seed of kindness, and every interaction builds bridges, not barriers. Together, we can reshape the digital landscape into a haven of support and positivity. Let's stand up, speak out, and make social media a place where everyone feels safe and valued. Talk to us at Thrive Youth CIC, because together, we can make a difference.

An extraordinary evening at the Mulan Annual Awards where I had the immense privilege of meeting Cherie Blair. Her words echoed a powerful truth that resonated deeply: 'Self-care is not a luxury but a necessity.' In a world that often glorifies hustle culture and non-stop productivity, Mrs. Blair's emphasis on the essential nature of self-care struck a chord.
Her insights highlighted the critical need for nurturing our well-being, not as an afterthought but as a fundamental pillar of a fulfilling life. Let's all remember - self-care isn't a luxury reserved for a few; it's a necessity for everyone. Here's to embracing that philosophy and honoring ourselves by making self-care a non-negotiable part of our journey. 🌟❤️
Let's talk about self-harm. In the UK, young adults and children may struggle silently with this issue. It's important to recognize the signs, support, and reach out. You're not alone. There are resources and helplines available. Let's spread awareness, understanding!

At Tessy's brunches, I had the privilege of meeting remarkable individuals. This is Jamal Edwards' mother, and she is working tirelessly to maintain Jamal's legacy. In 2021, Edwards established Jamal Edwards Delve, a project focused on revitalising and reopening youth centers. Similarly at Thrive Youth CIC, we believe youth centres provide a safe and supervised environment for young people to gather, socialise, and engage in constructive activities, reducing exposure to potential risks on the streets.
Youth centres foster a sense of community and belonging among young people, helping them connect with their peers and build meaningful relationships.
Following the recent tragic events in Luton,Croydon, and Brixton we need to engage community organisations, leaders, politicians and residents to form a unified front in addressing the issue. Therefore, it is imperative that we allow our youth to voice their perspective and viewpoints on this issue. There needs to be more community cohesion.
I felt honoured and privileged to have had the opportunity to speak at this event.
