The West Herts 2022 tennis club golf champion - Russ Crawford with 39 points showed his class whilst the rest of us hacked it round. Great day had by all up at West Herts Golf club. Special mention to Peter Moore and Grant Edwards who drove down from up north to join us for the day. Hope to do it all again next year when Russ’s handicap will be cut by 10 and give the rest of us a chance 😉

Joe winning another mens singles final against Manan. Hannah winning the ladies singles title for the 3rd year running, defeating Jessica. Joe & Manan winning the mens doubles. Jane & Tina defeating Anca & Alessia for the ladies doubles. And finally Richard Haines defeating our young junior member Vincent in the handicap final.

Quiz night is here!

It’s been a long-time coming and well overdue so grab a team and have a ball. All non-members welcome. Please note, their will be a limit of 10 tables.

When? 11th March 7pm prompt start
Where? The main sports hall.
Cost? £5pp
Teams? 5-8 people
Registration: 6:30-7pm (buy your raffle tickets and get a drink in)

We are also looking for raffle prizes so if anyone has any unwanted gifts from Christmas/work freebies/would just like to donate it would be very much appreciated.

Please be advised Saturday the club is going to be incredibly busy.

We have builders on site, a Watford home game and the cricket club have a play off final, as well as anything the tennis club have planned.

Please can you advise all members that parking will be almost impossible after 1:30 until 6pm at least. Also there will be staff of the gate, any tennis members looking to park that don't have their membership cards will likely be turned away, please can you make sure all tennis members are aware. This why I made sure all members cards were given out.

I will do my very best to help where possible. I'm around all day Saturday.

We will be allowing some cars to park on the grass to increase capacity.

Please also make members aware anyone parking in front of the grounds area or the emergency access bay to the field will have their cars moved imidiately as we need access to the field all day both for the groundstaff and the builders.

I really appreciate the tennis clubs support in this matter. Any problems or questions please let me know. I've sent this not to Roger John Malpas and Neil.

Congratulations to Mark Harris & Louisa Tunney on winning the Mixed Doubles Tournament today defeating Derek & Jane Walker 6-3 in an excellent final.
Special thanks to Hannah Watkins for organising such a great finals day in her 1st year as match secretary.
Shame the weather wasn’t better nevertheless I’m sure everyone enjoyed it.

Great Britain's youngest visually impaired tennis player wins competition A 16-year-old boy, who is set to make his international debut representing Team GB, excelled in a recent tournament.

You are invited to this years Handicap Competition that will run through September and October.

The format will be in the form of a box league. Which will consist of a handicapped round robin. The top 2 players of each league will commence through to a knockout through October.

If you would like to enter please don’t reply to this email but text Hannah 07968 565514 to reserve you place. Once we have all the players we will inform you of your handicap.

This competition is open to all club members of all standards. The deadline for this comp is Monday 23rd August.

Dear members

This years mixed doubles club comp will take place on Bank Monday 30th August starting at 1pm. Please let Hannah know your partners name who you wish to play with. If you haven’t got a partner please let her know and she will match you up with someone.

Depending on the number of entries the format will most probably be a round robin in the group stages, and then commencing on to the knockout rounds.

We will also be having a bbq and a few beers so if you don’t wish to play please still come along and support the club.
