Well some things don't always ho to plan and this project was one if them!

Unfortunately the lamp was not to be🤪 but I did finish the shade which im really quite pleased with!

Its 20cm diameter so will fit a small table lamp and is available for sale for £20 excluding postage. DM to purchase 😊

Taking some inspiration from this gorgeous image from for my new lampshade.
The sweet mix of colours green, orange, pinks and yellows will make a perfect combination to top off the green glass lamp💡

To turn this empty glass bottle into a thing of beauty 💡🌈

Slide across and you will see that it was an elderflower cordial bottle (love a bit of elderflower in my prosecco😉). Anyway as you can also see there was a pair!! Smashed one so now there's only 1 green bottle....

I'm also printing a lampshade as seen in stories so keep watching to see this transformation evolve😍

If all goes to plan it will be available for sale. How cool would it be to know that only you had this exact same lamp and that you saved the life of one green bottle.

Two lampshades are 30cm and the other 20cm diameter.

Linara is a beautiful fabric to work with as I've said before however the Arturo, although gorgeous, is trickier for lampshades because of its thickness and composition.

If you find a fabric and you ask a lampshade maker to make a shade and they say it can't be done, my advice is get a second opinion.
There is always a way, it might just require a different technique.

I say this not because I have patience or I just want to take your money....but because I have enough experience to know there us always another way!

DETAILS 🔥

Our client has chosen this super special 'sunglaze' pink paint from which was created just for us!

Hardware chosen is 'old English' which will give the lamps a classic but more unusual finish and the lamp will be finished with a contrasting blue cable which will bring the scheme all together to create lamps that are truly unique.😍

INSPO 💡

Taking some inspiration from this beautiful bedroom by for the lampshade of my rebuild lamp.

Morocco's interiors are characterized by a rich blend of traditional and modern elements, reflecting the country's diverse cultural heritage.

For the project I'm mixing the natural simplicity of the ceramic base with an abstract pattern fabric in the hope that they will blend perfectly and become a beautiful statement piece worthy of a spot in this gorgeous room setting.

Here's a closer look at my pre Christmas commission. I added contrasting gimble tidies to make the base. Lovely Khski green lightweight linen and trim from .

A bespoke commission completed just in time for Christmas.
This belonged to my clients dad but although the frame was strong the cover had seen better days so I gave it a new lease of life 😊

It's that time when the kids have gone to their own homes and the decs are coming down.
Thank you to all those who have supported me and my small business both silently and on here this year.

At the beginning of 2023 I made a promise to work hard and put more time and effort into the business and see what happens at the end of the year.
It's been tough and exciting, draining and rewarding and I've loved every minute of it but selling retail to the masses just isn't viable for me.

This year I'm making some changes and will be concentrating on one off pieces and working with clients and interior designers.
I love lampshade design so making it work is really important to me but I'm also on my own with no financial back up so I need to be realistic about what I can achieve.

In short....it's been awhile!

Life is busy and I make no excuses for not posting when there's work to be done and here's the thing.
Last week I gained a few new followers. Hello 👋
I can only put this down to being shared on other peoples stories so thank you to those that share and thank you to those who follow. Greatly appreciated.

Some of you may remember me working on this shade a few weeks back. Well I got most of it stitched and then noticed a tiny part of the binding was a bit loose.
Binding your frame tightly is key to a great result so I unpicked the stitching, rebound the frame and here we are again.
Perfection costs nothing but time and spending the extra time makes all the difference.

BESPOKE ☄️

As the year comes to an end I always reflect on my little small business and where it's heading.
This year I concentrated on making more on mass and going to a few markets. Selling ready made items and listing on my website.
It's been great and I've met some wonderful local businesses on the way but it's not what I love. Plus I don't really have space to hold the sort of stock you need for events when most of my items are large and quite fragile.

Next year I will be going back to making one of a kind pieces, finding local stockists and working with interior designers instead of holding stock myself.
