Christmas Wreath

The weather is warming up (mostly) and things are bursting into life. I am always looking around for things to create with. Do you forage and what kinds of things do you look for?

One thing not discussed as an adult is how long we debate whether to keep a cardboard box because its a really good cardboard box!

We have some lovely bases in for spring, easter and mothers day creations. I made this one using some artificial spring flowers and a natural willow ring. You could add lights or one of our pre drilled wooden shapes to add a message for an extra special gift. www.christmas-wreath.co.uk

Although we have personally supported the crisis in the Ukraine we are always looking for other ways to contribute. We have put together these bundles of 90m florists ribbon in support of the Ukraine. They can be used to make ribbon wreaths, torn to tie balloons, decorate floral arrangements or curled. 1 blue and 1 yellow, we have 9 bundles left. For every bundle sold we will donate £1 to the humanitarian Ukraine appeal. £12.99 including post.

There are so many events coming up over the next few weeks that wreaths are just perfect for! Easter, spring and mothers day wreaths can be created on our beautifully hand made straw and twig bases. These are locally sourced, sustainable and hand made! We all want to do a bit for the environment these days. Couple of little experiments today, fingers crossed we'll have dehydrated dried fruit for wreaths soon and in a couple of months we get to try our home made whiskey :)

Judith sent us a picture of one of our straw wreath bases, stunningly decorated in winter finery! Its lovely to see the final products :-)

Rather than use sphagnum moss, we much prefer to use locally sourced wheat straw to pad our wreath bases. We just need to find a more sustainable wreath wrap.

The beauty of having all these lovely things to sell is product testing! Tonight it's our London 🐝 candles made from bees wax and shaped like hives with little bees on 😍

We need your help! As you know there is a spruce shortage. Not everyone has been able to get the spruce bases they wanted. However, we know that there are other ways to save the christmas wreath! Our customers makes wreaths from wool, ribbon, rags or even scavenged bits of foliage from the garden! Post your pictures here and help others with ideas if they have been unable to get the bases they wanted. Thanks all :-)
