Harpin's Funeral Home
Harpin's Funeral Service has been providing services within the local area for over 90 years. We’re also available 24 hours a day on the phone.
In 1930, Leonard and Vera Harpin purchased their first Rolls Royce. Through hard work, this soon increased to a fleet of two hearses and thirteen limousines. The limousines were originally used for a variety of purposes, such as weddings and not kept just for funeral work. They also hired the fleet to Funeral Directors in the area who didn’t own their own vehicles. The teams at our funeral homes w
There are lots of complicated funeral terms so we have designed a guide to help you understand any terms you come across when arranging a funeral, or settling the estate of a loved one.

Funeral Arranger Rose Fairweather at Doves Funeral Directors in Bromley has created this beautiful window display to raise awareness for Plastic Free July 🐬💙
Funeral Partner’s sector leading reputation as the acquisition partner of choice, has meant that in the past 12 months we have added more than 1,000 years of heritage and experience to our network – including 14 high quality family businesses bringing with them an impressive 40 additional funeral homes.
I never take it for granted that former owners, including many who stay with us to continue to run their businesses, put their faith in us to enable their legacy to thrive. I’m proud they see Funeral Partners as a name synonymous with respect, trust and exemplary service.
The reason Family businesses are sold can vary from succession planning through to retirement, but we also hear that the additional burden that comes with CMA compliance and the regulation of the Funeral Planning sector, means business owners have less time to focus on families.
When you partner with us, we take responsibility to ensure the business remains compliant with the ever-changing regulatory environment, allowing you to do what you do best, and that is caring for families and serving local communities.
Another lovely Thursday Thank You this week to Lisa at Miles & Daughters Funeral Directors.
Thank you for being so kind and caring to this family 💜

When a loved one dies it can be incredibly stressful to think about their funeral, this is especially true if they have passed away abroad.
There are a number of official processes that have to be completed prior to repatriating a loved one back to their home country.
For this reason, we’ve written a guide to help navigate the process, visit our website for more information:

Humphris Funerals discovered a swarm of bees, they looked at the BBKA - The British Beekeepers Association and used google lens to identify they were honeybees.
A local beekeeper was contacted and within the hour, Richard was with us and captured the queen and placed her into a temporary holding box, to entice the rest of the swarm to join her in. Three days later they were safely removed and taken away to be transferred into a hive.
The hive will be called the Humphris hive and the first three batches of honey will be donated to us next year along with a certificate.
Funeral Arranger Wendy Barrie from James D***s Funeral Service visited Irvine Valley Mens Shed in Newmilns to present a Choice Funeral Plans community donation cheque.
The group is a place for local men to meet and share; learn new skills. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
The donation was gratefully received to help with the running costs for this most valuable social group in the local community.
🎉 Marking 120 Years of James Brown & Sons! 🎉
From humble beginnings in Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, James Brown & Sons has grown into a cornerstone of the Belfast community. Established in 1904, we started as a coal merchant and then a furniture removal business. Our journey into funeral services began in 1932, and since then, we've dedicated ourselves to caring for families during their most challenging times.
Today, we operate from seven funeral homes in and around Belfast, staying true to our family roots. James Brown, who joined his grandfather’s business over 60 years ago, remains actively involved, alongside his daughter Beverley, our Community Relations and Marketing Manager. Branch Manager Andrew Neale has been a part of our team since he was just 17.
James Brown reflects on this milestone: "Marking our 120th anniversary is a profound moment to reflect on our impact and the people we've helped in our communities. The profession has evolved since I joined in 1960, but our commitment to providing compassionate care remains unchanged."
Thank you for trusting us for over a century 💙
Another lovely Thursday Thank You this week to Jackie and the team at Bexley Funeral Service.

This wonderful addition was made possible through the efforts of Anne Rowe, Funeral Arranger at James Brown & Sons Funeral Director, following a request from the church.
Special thanks to Surrey County Council for making the installation possible through the Your Fund Surrey Small Community Projects fund.

Elizabeth Way & Company Funeral Directors in Mossley had the honour of arranging a funeral with a very eye-catching mode of transport leading the cortege.
In a heartfelt tribute, Granny Annie's Ice Cream Van, driven by friends of the deceased, led the cortege through the streets of Stalybridge to Dukinfield Crematorium.
We would like to thank the family for allowing us to share this special moment.
Join us in celebrating Armed Forces Day and showing support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community!

Having trained as a joiner and undertaker George Brooke founded his own business George Brooke Funeral Directors in 1952 and the business has grown from strength to strength since then.
First establishing the first chapel of rest in Dewsbury and acquiring the goodwill of both Lewis Brook and F W Tong giving the business a rich history that can be traced back over 150 years. They also operate a second funeral home in Mirfield extending the reach of the communities they serve.
George’s children Neil, Helen and Judith joined the family business during the 1970’s and 1980’s and although Neil has since retired, we are delighted that both Helen and Judith will continue to run the business as part of the funeral Partners Family supported by their experienced and capable team.
We are proud that another business with a reputation for care, respect and understanding has chosen Funeral Partners as their acquisition partner.
Welcome to Funeral Partners.

Jacqui Williams funeral arranger from Abbotsfield Funeral Directors Hereford was busy at work cleaning up the yard of St Mary’s Church in Credenhill, tackling 4-foot-high growth.
She managed to complete 3/4s of the churchyard until she ran out of battery. Thankfully, a group from the community payback venture came to the rescue with mowers and strimmers.
Their assistance made a significant impact, and they've committed to visiting regularly.
Jacqui is grateful to see the churchyard looking cared for again!
