We received an impromptu visit from Councillor Mike Solomon last week during a playing session, and he continues to offer his enthusiastic support for the club, and the SMG venue 👍
There are imminent plans to provide storage for our kit via a container on site and he is keen to expand the club in future
We hope to host events during the year and look forward to a fun summer at the piste!

WsM Petanque Club v Royal Wootton Bassett Petanque Club on Thurs 5th October …..
We welcomed RWB, a long established club with more than 30 yrs experience, to the SeeMonster Gardens for our first match against another team, when they kindly visited us on the way to Westward Ho!
Watching the game were Cllr Mike Solomon and other members of WsM, and after photos and a gift of beer 🍺 to WsM the games began!
On Piste 1 - Jim Bartlett ( team capt) and Roy Farrant (player/pointer of the tournament ) won both games 13-0 and 13-11
On Piste 3 - Lew Hartley (chairman) and Paul Steer had mixed fortune, losing the first 11-13, but winning the second time limited game 7-3
On Piste 6 - Clive Poole and Stephen Steer-Smith (secretary) played against a RWB triple, in a very close encounter, winning the first game after being 6 down in the first throw, but closely losing the second 12-13
All the games were full of joy, and apart from a dog coming onto the pistes it was overall a really good event enjoyed by all!
We wish RWB every success in their trip and look forward to a return match with pleasure
Thanks to all who organised, played and supported 😁
We are pleased to say that we will be hosting a visiting team from Royal Wootton Bassett on Thursday Oct 5th at approx 1100.
They are calling into Weston en route to Devon and have asked to play a friendly game against us.
All WsM members are very welcome to play in an informal encounter!
We need numbers beforehand so please shout up via Messenger, email or WhatsApp if you can join in 😁
Thanks
We couldn’t gain access to the SMG today despite an assurance from NSC but having considered the poor weather forecast for 2moro, we will cancel play anyway until Weds 27th
Hope to see you then 😊
Due to the annual Beach Race which takes place 22-24 Sept there will be restricted access to the piste at SMG.
We can confirm that we can play on Weds 20th as usual, but not Sun 24th
Normal access resumes from Tues 26th
Due to the lovely return of summer this week we are moving our Wednesday session to a 4pm start…hope to see you there
It’s a one off and we’ll be back to normal times next week!
Thanks for the continued support of our original and new members the club is growing and we’ve had some great games recently

A warm welcome to our recent new members!
We’ve had some good games by the sea recently, some in the sun and some in the rain.
New players are always welcome to join us to give the game a try 😁
Its been decided to move our Sunday session this weekend to give everyone chance to watch and support the Lionesses in the World Cup final 🇬🇧
We’ll now start play promptly at 2.30
Next Saturday 12th August we are hosting an Open Play informal competition instead of our original session
Teams of 3 players will be chosen randomly - but we will ensure there is an experienced player in each so dont worry if you’re new to the game!
We hope this will be a fun way to experience a bit of competitive play and get to know club members and newcomers alike
We will be at the piste from 1000, and once teams are decided, and safe play rules have been explained, play will start at 1030
Play will continue into the afternoon depending on the number of entrants
We need to know how many are joining us , so if you are interested please let us know by reply as soon as you can - contact info is in the About section
If you want to know more please ask!
We look forward to a fun day…. and hopefully a dry one 🤞🏼☀️
Thanks to all who have visited us to play and /or join us at SMG!

We're happy to say that the official opening of the See Monster Gardens and our lovely new piste went very well yesterday!
We played two x three a side games with some brave volunteers from NSC..... They did extremely well, beating us in one game, and although the second didnt finish, it was running very close
A great time was had by all and we look forward to welcoming lots of new members to this excellent facility!
