Chris Eldergill Bespoke wooden furniture creations

Haven’t built any furniture for a while, so am quite pleased with my latest project.
Frame is made from old construction lumber which I have planned and squared. Top and bottom shelves are Iroko and Sycamore sourced from all finished in osmo polyx

Proud of this project. Managed to source some teak off cuts which used to be floorboards in Weston Pier. Salvaged when they burned down. That and some old oak posts have been turned into an ottoman full of character.

Not posted a lot recently as mainly been working on a few small pieces. Some wall mounted bottle openers, and some 2 inch thick, solid oak chopping boards. I have done one garden set but don’t actually have finished pics yet.
I am working on something at the minute though made out of teak floor boards taken off the grand pier when it had the fire so looking forward to getting that finished

When my Nan passed away a few months ago, she had an old bench outside her front door. I decided I wanted to refurb it, have a plaque made and keep it in their memory. Unfortunately the wood was so badly rotted in places it couldn’t be saved. So I decided to make something new instead

So it’s been a productive week off work for me getting the garden converted for the summer, getting rid of the grass and building a deck. Just gotta put some railings around it to finish it off. Huge thanks to Neil as well who has been amazing with his all his help.

Really pleased with how my bedside cabinets have come out. Made from solid oak, reclaimed by . Finished with Osmo polyx satin. Took me ages and lots of lessons learned, mainly that filler isn’t great for hiding screws if you don’t use stain or paint, and the importance of squaring the wood properly before trying to joint.

Nice little project this weekend, sets of placemats and coasters. First set is solid Sapelle, the second has a strip of Iroko running through them

Been meaning to post but not got around to it, a couple of bits I’ve done for presents. A Clock for my dads 60th from Oak and Iroko, and a Jewellery box for my wife from Iroko, Sapelle and Ash. All reclaimed woods again

My first real go at making furniture from hard woods. Frame is Ash, body is Iroko and the lid is Oak. Feet are Sapelle.
All finished with Teak oil.
All woods are reclaimed woods from Somerset Wood Recycling

Made some nice chopping boards to sell as Christmas presents

Enjoyed making this one. Baby change unit for my Niece who is due in December. First time making furniture with some hardwoods

Really enjoyed making this one. Dining table and bench set, made sustainably using reclaimed scaffold boards for the table top. Hope it’s new owners get lots of happy times with it.

Painted the fence and put a sail up. Now just need some curtains and some lights to finish it off

So it’s been a productive bank holiday weekend. I’ve built myself a pergola. Now need to get a retractable roof, some waterproof curtains and some lights. I’ll be honest it was a lot harder than I thought it would be

Really chuffed with how this has come out. CLS frame, coated with a pressure treated cladding. Finished in Teak stain, and yacht varnish. Assisted in the build by Izabella Hatcher

Looking for one final summer garden furniture project for my portfolio. I will build one more at cost price.

Not really a woodworking post here, but, I’m currently doing a sponsored walk for Macmillan. My team is attempting to walk the road distance between the three peaks, starting and finishing at our head office in Maidenhead. A total of nearly 1,200 miles in just over 6 weeks

Stripped down and fully re stained and varnished my outdoor benches to match my nice new table

Corner sofa and coffee table garden set built in a solid days work with Paul Carter. Looking great now it’s all painted and in site

New TV unit finally finished. Made completely from used scaffold boards to give a rustic farmhouse look, and make it a full reuse project. Now just trying to decide whether to leave it as is, or fit some sliding barn style doors on the front

Scaffold board shelving done for my bedroom this weekend. The one under the telly was done a while ago though using a different technique so now doesn’t match. Guess I’ll be re-doing that next weekend then. Anyone have a use for the old one? FOC
