How was your weekend?

Fancy a little trip to Sandbay?
Today (Tuesday) we will take the open-top bus to Sandbay. Here’s the plan… ⏰

- Meet by The Grand Pier (bus stops) for 1.15pm
- 🚌 The 'Coaster' bus departs at 1.30pm
- 🚶‍♀️Sandbay Walk will start at 2pm
- ☕️ Refreshment stop approx. 2.30pm
- 🚌 Return bus at 3.05pm

For those joining us there 🚗. we will gather at the Sandbay Bus terminal (by the toilets), ready to begin our short walk at 2pm.

Our walking group had a delayed start today, with both Kerrie and Shaun stuck in the M5 traffic! 🚘 🚙 🚛 😩 Sorry!

Thank you to those who had to wait for us. Dean, Susie, Laura and Josh 🙏

We caught up with the group over a coffee ☕️ Then set off as planned.🚶

- Today’s walk took us around the Marina 🛥

- Then the costal path to Portbury Nature Reserves 🦢 🐦

- We passed art and sculpture works 🎭 🎨

- We saw a new Bug Hotel 🐛 🐞 🕷 🏨

- Picked a couple of Blackberries 😋

- We stopped at a bird watching hut at the North Pools 🛖 🦢 👀

- We even had to apply the sunscreen🧴 🌞

Not a bad session after all! 👌🙌 🤗

** Next Tuesday afternoon (3 September) our walking group will take us to Sandbay. We plan to get on the open top bus **

Some good transport related news for some of you! 🚌 🍋 The Big Lemon CIC

We're pleased to confirm The Big Lemon CIC will continue to run the X10 bus service between Clevedon, Portishead, Cribbs Causeway and Southmead Hospital, from September 📣🚌🍋

Following Transpora’s suspension of the X10 route in July, The Big Lemon CIC agreed to take over the route temporarily until the end of August. We thank The Big Lemon CIC for stepping in quickly, making sure there were no disruption to services 🙏

During this time, we put the X10 service out to tender to find an operator to run the service for the long-term. The Big Lemon CIC has been awarded the tender and will continue to run it.

From Sunday 1 September, the X10 route will be reinstated beyond Clevedon Triangle to Clevedon Tesco roundabout in both directions, serving Southern Way again and the Curzon Cinema Clevedon.

The timetable will also be amended to have a morning and afternoon journey timed specifically for South Gloucestershire and Stroud College’s Filton Campus.

Anyone for Tennis? 🎾

This special accessible session is taking place on Thursday.

We’ve checked and the 4pm session is for all ages, so adults welcome too!

Why not give it a go?

David Lloyd Long Ashton and Access Sport have teamed up to offer a summer tennis session aimed at and inclusive to those who are neurodivergent and/or have a learning disability.

Learn new skills and have fun on Thursday 22nd August from 3-3:45 pm (ages 5-12 years) and 4-4:45 pm (ages 13+ years).

We are combining our walking group and Friends together to have a fun in the park. Enjoy a walk, play outdoor games & have a picnic 🧺 🥪 🏈

We got all crafty making England flags and bunting ahead of Sundays match. 🎨
