Basic wreath making technique here in pictures. The bit to get right is the structure, all worked around a piece of thick garden wire. Use Cornus and Hazel shoots as they’re supple and beautiful colours too. Then wire in loads of foliage, selecting contrasting colours and forms. Add a sprinkling of colour from berries, flowers, ribbons or baubles & you’re done 😊 Don’t forget to add some string to hang it from 😉

Newly planted front garden and a happy customer. The brief was for low growing shrubs of different green hues. Check out the before picture at the end!!

Wednesday’s job was to prune 64 rose bushes! I must have cut 250 stems for the customer to fill her house with 😊 they’re all good to go for the winter months.

Spent a lovely afternoon cleaning the pond we made in the spring. What a joy to see it teeming with life, dragonfly larvae, water snails & boatmen. It’s been an emotional few days as a lovely school friend passed away - expected but still very sad. I’m so grateful to have an outdoor job where I can process life while out in nature. Birdsong and fresh air doesn’t make it all go away but it gives me space to pray and helps me to refocus. Make the most of the outdoors, friends. And hug your families ❤️

I’ve had the great pleasure of starting to plant the gardens of Morven house in Carnoustie. My grandparents ran the hotel from 1945-1970 and my late dad grew up here. Such a personal thing to be involved in, a real joy for me ❤️Thank you Graham & Lisa for inviting me. Anyone looking to play on the Carnoustie links golf course should definitely stay here. Or you can now get married here in the grounds 💍 Beautiful hotel run by beautiful people

The Italian courtyard garden is growing well, one year on! I’ve been back to prune the rose and have a tidy up. We nearly lost the olive tree in the harsh winter but it’s been pruned and is sprouting happy new leaves 🍃

Pretty planting job in North Hampshire. I love a winding garden path that leads gently through flower beds. I used pittosporum, euonymus, lonicera, hamamelis, euphorbia, a weeping Canary Bird rose and lots of other lovely shrubs & perennials.

Another pond update 😊 The Cornus kousa var. chinensis tree is looking stunning this month! We’ve painted three coats of the G4 rubber seal which will harden over the next few days before we connect the pumps & fill the pond with water & plants. Looking forward to seeing the waterfall in action next week!

Pond update! The planting is looking great and I’ve added a small stumpery for the amphibians and insects. We’re just waiting for the rain to stop so we can drain the pond, seal it and fill it. Tim’s built a small waterfall which he’s dying to try out!

I’ve been having a go at pottery for a few months and I love it! Here’s a wall light that I’m making from porcelain clay. No prizes for spotting the botanical theme 😉

Well Rooted has a new home! We may not have a boiler but we have flowers in the window 🌼

Pond update! Good weather means we can press on with the repair work! The bulbs are all showing their tiny green shoots and the plants are bedding in nicely 😊
