I will be honest and when it comes to my shop I don’t have a business plan as such, I’m more a wing it and hope for the best kinda girl. However when I saw post post about their small business empowering program it got me thinking.
If you’ve been around a while you’ll know in January I added a laser cutter from another company to my craft room, however it was short lived as it broke. I planned to replace it with a but bills got in the way and life so it’s had to go on the end of my list.
Now I’ve rambled about that now to my “business plan” I adore doing embroidery but I want to add more, I want to grow my business into something even more wonderful than it already is.
I want to add laser cut jewellery using my own designs, wall displays, 3D decorations, hanging decorations, engraved jewellery and so much more and with business empowering program I could do this and so much more!
I want to teach my son how to use a laser cutter so when we do events he has his very own designs to sell to give him a purpose.
There’s so much I want to do and this opportunity would mean the absolute world to me and my small business after how hard the past few years have been ❤️

I’ve been putting off doing this for so long but it’s time to be brave.
I started Starlight By Ali to help with my mental health, if you you’ve been here from the beginning you’ll know when I started I worked with resin and then progressed to embroidery which helped grow my business which I’m so grateful for.
The past few years have been really tough and I’ve struggled massively with my physical health and mental health.
So it’s time to make changes to how Starlight By Ali is run.
From 1st February I will be changing Etsy to mainly ready to ship items only. The only made to order items will be ears for now. This is to help me manage my time better, ensure I’m not stressing over getting orders made and gives me chance to make stock for comic cons and have actual content to share.
I’m not sure this is the right thing for my business but if I don’t change how I do things I’m going to end up completely burnt out and potentially having to close.
I’m hoping this isn’t a permanent change but will see how it goes.

No big post from me about 2023 and what I’ve achieved because most days it’s just been surviving! I’m not quite sure how it’s new year already when I’m still processing the past 5 years.

Christmas sale now happening on instagram

The past year hasn’t been easy not just as a small business but also personally.
I’ve had to cancel my last 2 Christmas stands because my health is not great.
This leaves me with a HUGE amount of stock. This is where I need help… before I photograph everything would anyone be interested in mystery boxes? These would be the same price as last year which was 5 items for £5, 10 for £10, 15 for £12.50 and 20 for £15 plus postage these will all be worth at LEAST double what you pay. OR I can photograph everything and do a story or grid sale with everything half price plus postage.
