According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesh was born during the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month of the Hindu calendar. It usually falls in the month of August-September of the Gregorian calendar. This year it falls on 6 September and celebrations will last for 10 days. Lord Ganesh's life represents prosperity, wisdom and good fortune.
