Even though the bridge is closed, Grosmont is still open and as welcoming as ever.

Soak up the beautiful scenery, take a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway one of the world’s greatest heritage railways or take a stroll through the village. A great trip for the whole family during the school holidays.

Grosmont can be access along Eskdaleside from Sleights. You'll get to Sleights on the A169 from Pickering and the south, or the A171 and A169 from Teesside and the north or from the centre of Whitby.

Unfortunately there’s a road closure on the Eskdale side road into Grosmont as well now due to a burst water main. 🚰
The only access into the village now is up Bluebank via Sleights.

We have decided not to serve lunch today due to this and instead do some kitchen maintenance. 🔧

The worker has advised its hopefully going to be reopened by the end of the day so we will be back serving food from 5:30pm tonight.

Sorry for the inconvenience folks, you couldn’t make this up 😅🤦🏼‍♂️

The road into Grosmont is all open, the only part of the village that is closed off is the bridge at the bottom on the Egton road.

Is closed due to a bus coming off the side, passengers and driver all ok thankfully but just a heads up for anyone planning to visit us today.
Alternative route would be through sleights.
