Oh, what fun I had yesterday afternoon recovering these lovely little lampshades!
I thought I'd go full on 70's vibe!
They are so cheerful and nostalgic, Lin ()
and I reminisced about our parents having this fabric as curtains and duvets!!

Many thanks also to for spotting them in and gifting them to me 🙏🧡 and telling me about the glorious orange pompoms .

2 colourful 10-inch gathered pleated lampshades for a dull day!
This beautiful 'Flower Garden' fabric depicts the famous painting 'Bauerngarten' by Gustav klimt.
These delights have been handsewn, pleated, balloon lined, and also have hand made and hand sewn trims.
They bring the outside in.

Medusa.....a 10-inch gathered pleated lampshade with ivory balloon lining and hand-made and handsewn trim.
A stunning Tana Lawn inspired by the ancient Greek myth. Glorious botanical paisley with seaweed like foliage and fantastical flowers.
Beautiful blues and greens.

The Mae Ruffle....
A 10-inch gathered pleated lampshade with a soft ruffle, balloon lining, and handmade and handsewn trims.

She's such a dainty shade, made with , a delicate blue with a soft white wave design.
A dear friend said it reminded her of Mae West's bloomers, hence the name!!

I created 'Larkspur' using a stunning faux silk fabric 'Astor' by in shade 'Larkspur' for our vintage style scalloped hand sewn lampshade.

This is a beautiful, delicate, understated fabric that oozes elegance. We feel that the fabric is so stunning that we decided to use a soft oyster shade fringe and matching braid.

She is balloon lined, and here I used a neutral shade allowing the colour of the fabric to speak for itself when lit.

"Exotic Leaves" this was my first 16-inch fringed lampshade.
It took me a while to put her up for sale. She is the first I ever made with my first mentor .designs in Brighton.

The stunning fabric with Violet & Gold exotic leaves, with hints of pink and orange, really is eye-catching and a statement piece. She is fully lined, hand pleated, and stitched into place.

This is the second of my 16-inch 'Florentine's Journey' fringed lampshades.
Again handsewn,🧵🪡 and pleated inside and out.
This is the green colourway with gentle hues of pinks and sage greens.

The fabric "Florentine's Journey " was a limited edition by depicting the beautiful peacock feather in all its glory. It's a delicate teal colourway with notes of lilac and softer blue hues.
When lit, it glows beautifully and really comes into its own, showing off all those glorious colours and its delicate patterns.

Today marks my veganniversary, and I've actually lost count of the years, 12, 13, maybe 14 years now.
It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
I signed up to a November Vegan Challenge via , who supported me throughout.
They also took us to .animalsanctuary to meet the rescued animals there.
This changed my life, my outlook.
I decided that I felt comfortable and good that there was no harm to any animal on my plate, my clothing, makeup, products in my house etc etc....
I became aware of animal experiments at an early age, and always loved being around animals and never liked having meat on my plate as a child. I decided I wanted to be vegetarian asap.
I never understood what vegans ate tbh.
I took the challenge and never looked bac. Itt's not as hard as you may think.
Try it, for the animals, and for the planet.
Don't be fooled by false advertising.
There are no 'happy cows, happy hens', etc.
No animal wants to die.
They are sentient beings, just like us.

As promised, another cushion I made last week.
This one is from left over "Sea sirens" in a teal colourway, an absolute favourite of mine.
I've added some sage green tassles, and the back of the cushion is a darker teal Tana Lawn cotton.
16x16 inches.
I'm trying to gauge what is considered a good cushion size 🤔
What would you say?

Last week, I was temporarily back in the studio happily, making cushions for an up and coming event, ( here's one pictured above) but unfortunately, my back went into spasm, and my plans had to be cancelled 😢
I'm currently sitting with my trusted hot water bottle, some painkillers ( which I never ever take unless critical, this is one of those moments!), and resting with the occasional back stretch and yelp!!
It will be a week on Wednesday /Thursday overnight, and I'm off to see a cranial osteopathist this Wednesday to work their magic.
I'm hoping to rebook the event and have more delightful cushions, lampshades, bottlelamps, and lantern kits to sell.

I'm hoping to photograph the other cushions asap!!

I always keep my leftover lampshade fabric to make cushions, and I'm glad I did.

It is the very last piece of the no longer in production ''Bathing Beauties'' I used quite a while ago.. adorned with pink tassles. Measuring 16" x 16"

Karen, a recent client, sent me this photo of her lovely sewing room, which is now adorning one of my lampshades.
It's so lovely to be able to see my work in situ. Thank you, Karen, for taking the time to send it to me.
Karen chose the fabulous Bowed Empire Arboretum Valley handsewn lampshade because she is a fan of colour and pattern ( she is a talented curtain maker).
It looks absolutely perfect in her room, sitting proudly on an inherited lampshade stand.

I know, it's been a while!
Apologies for my absence on the grid.
There's been lots going on behind the scenes and very much needed downtime with the family.
I won't be showing up as often, but I'll still be here.
I'm very much in limbo at the moment, awaiting decisions out of my control, which could then change my path, maybe not so much change it, but things may well be a little different.
Sorry for being so vague, but that's just how it is for now.

I am still happy to take enquiries, I still have shades and bottlelamps for sale.
