We were delighted to be asked to remove the modern paint from the exterior of this very special 16th Century Tudor Cottage in the picturesque Town of Sandwich. The modern paint was causing internal damp issues. Here are the before and after pictures. We were recently asked to renovate the front facade of this delightful end of terrace cottage in Sydenham Street, Whitstable. Sydenham Street is one of the narrow Victorian terraced streets that abut Whitstable's famous Harbour Street at the bottom end of town.

Back in the day, it was one of the cheapest parts of the town to live, but fast forward to today.....it is a very desirable area to live, due in large to its proximity to the beach and to the centre of town.

The cottage was coated in several layers of modern textured paint which was causing an internal problem with damp. Today's modern paints trap in moisture and stops the bricks from breathing. Yes, bricks do breathe! Removing the paint extends the life of your building

The paint was removed using our English Heritage approved system, gently stripping off the paint in an environmentally friendly way, and without causing any damage to the face of the bricks. Many older buildings were built using soft red bricks so it is really important to use the correct removal method.

Once back to original brick, our client decided to have the whole front repointed in a traditional lime mortar to complete the transformation. This was carried out by our sister company Heritage Brickwork Renovation

This is a one of our most exciting projects to date. This beautiful property in Whitstable has had all of its paint removed, and is currently undergoing a full repoint.
