Time to say our last goodbye...
We will be closing the Spoon Web page soon so would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for there custom and support over the years.
A personal message from Paul...
I have spent the last 20+ years of my life working in the various incarnations of the shop, a lot of people have come through those doors over all those years and I have got to know so many fantastic and wonderful people.
I have had 20+ years of laughter and conversation, shared in a lot of good times and even a few sad. I hope that over the years I have made at least a few people's days a little brighter with a friendly chat, a kind word and a patient ear it has truly been an honor to be a part of this wonderful magical place.
All things must sadly end and now we take our final bow.
Goodbye and thank you my friends I wish in the end I would have been able to say goodbye to you all in person but sadly this is not to be.
It is with great sorrow and sadness we must announce that Russell has passed away of a heart attack.
Please allow for his family and friends to grieve in this difficult time of sadness.
Rest in peace my friend.
We here at Spoon Web would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas 🎅 and say thank you to everyone that shopped/rented with us in 2020 (when we were allowed to open).
We hope to see you all happy and well in 2021 🤞
Once again, public transport related issues may well delay the opening of the shop.
Still, on the plus side, it's not like we are trying to make any money at a key time of a difficult retail year or anything...
Oh the joys of small business!!!
See ya when I get there.
In stock and available to rent NOW on DVD and Blu Ray.
Rent from Kents last DVD Rental shop for just £3 per night and save yourself £££ when compared to the costs charged by the many inferior, greedy streaming/download services!

Greetings
Settle down gentle viewer and let me tell you a tale of sick animals, nasty virus', financial hardship and old ladies knitting stuff!
There is, dear reader, an animal sanctuary in Cornwall called Prickles and Paws (there should be a link in the comments section below for those who wish to verify our bold statement) who each year hold a Christmas Fair in order to raise much needed cash money in order to provide excellent treatment for the sick animals in their care.
Alas - this year there shall be no fair, for an evil virus stalks the land and such shenanigans are generally frowned upon or outright prohibited.
Through out the year, my wife's' Aunts selflessly put aside their desires to go clubbing at the weekend and instead dedicate their time to knit items to be sold at said fair, for they wish the animals to have access to the fiances needed to make them well.
This means, as astute readers of this post will realise, that as things stand, they currently have a small range of hand made produce with no means to turn said produce in to the much needed funds for the sanctuary.
If only they had a niece whose husband owned an independent shop where those items could be sold with 100% of the funds donated to the sanctuary. Surely their niece could persuade her husband to sell those item, either through the goodness of his own heart, using her feminine wiles or failing that, with a frying pan to the back of the head.
So rejoice my dear friends - for my wife owns a frying pan.
Now, if only there was some sort of festive season approaching where it was traditional to exchange gifts, then these fox and hedgehog themed gloves and hats would make an ideal present for both animal lovers and those who desire quality knitted produce....
With that thought lingering in your brain, we shall take our leave of you dear reader. Our thanks for proving Facebook wrong and taking the time to read our rambling missive (for, according to Facebook, their users only look at pictures, don't you know?) and we hope to see you soon in the shop, where knitted produce aside, we still have a vast range of DVDs to rent and items of a nerdy nature to sell.
Be well.
For those of you that have seen pictures in the papers or on the news regarding the "hordes" of shoppers that have descended upon retail establishments now that trading restrictions have been lifted and you are worried about how that may effect the spread of the virus and the potential of you catching it, the good news is that it was nothing like that in here.
We can report zero hordes.
Hurrah!

Summer land
Summerland follows the story of fiercely independent folklore investigator, Alice (Gemma Arterton) who secludes herself in her clifftop study, debunking myths using science to disprove the existence of magic. Consumed by her work, but also profoundly lonely, she is haunted by a love affair from her past. When spirited young Frank (Lucas Bond), an evacuee from the London Blitz, is dumped into her irritable care, his innocence and curiosity awaken Alice's deeply buried emotions. Bravely embracing life's miraculous unpredictability, Alice learns that wounds may be healed, second chances do occur, and that, just perhaps - magic really does exist.

As we all know masks are an essential part of our new lives. And here at Spoon Web we can provide you with a bit of a cool one.
Like clowns? Like evil nightmare fuel clowns? Like the movie Poltergeist? Like movie replicas? Got that niece/nephew that you think could do with less sleep? I know they're family and obviously you love them but you know they are annoying and it would look like you had just bought them a gift...
Want some outside the box company during winter? Its definitely a conversation starter.
Halloween soon... just imagine this little chap sat in a chair with the bowl of sweets infront of him being the first and only thing that the trick or treaters see as they go to knock on the door and it slowly creaks open to reveal him. You would definitely save some money on sweets and your house would become Halloween legend for generations to come.
Available at Spoon Web with many many other little gems.
