Help if anyone could foster 1 or two of our old rescues as we are away soon for 4 days.
Also I have just paid £256 vet bill and now need to raise £600 for DIEAGO to have an xray on his bad leg. If anyone could help me out please get in touch. Thank you.

Well, ROMA and DIEAGO went to their first dog show today. Considering they have never been anywhere like this before and Roma hasn’t even had a collar and lead on before they did very will. ROMA got a 2nd, 4th and a 6th.
DIEAGO came home with a 4th and 5th.
These two lovely old dogs never even turned their head at another dog. Alll
They want is a bit of fuss.
PLEASE PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD THAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR FOSTER HOMES OR EVEN FOREVER HOMES.

WILL BE GOING TO THIS SWEET OLD COUPLE.
They have just arrived at my
house this evening and have been absolutely ideal. They have got on absolutely fine with my two.
Here is the problem
Roma is 13 years old (the fluffy coated) and has never seen a vet (so not spayed)so I’m taking them for vaccinations and vet check. She needs a groom desperately and will need her teeth cleaned.
DIEAGO is 9 years old and has a bad limp on his back leg. I’ve been informed that this does not hurt or bother him but I would still like to get it checked out and of course needs vaccinations.
If anyone could help by fostering or donating anything for the auction or even a few pounds we would greatly appreciate it.
I would like to ask that we do not get any bad remarks as the gentleman has to gone into a home due to dementia. He has had these dogs from pups and has looked after them well.

An old injury from when he was young but does not stop him from running

Looking for foster home or forever home.
Would be great if they could go together but can be separated if it helps finding them a home

I CAN’T BREATHE

I’ve never seen it this packed.

They wouldn’t let us inside until after 4pm. It didn’t matter what I said or did, he said it wasn’t the right time to start yet.

We found out when we got here that was because they sent a load off to Canada right before we came.

I’m so physically sick for the horses that were lost that we could’ve saved. Ally is inconsolable. 26 horses lost their lives today. And we could have taken every last one. We WOULD have taken every last one.

He looked at me and said he’s sending one load Friday and three loads next week. “They shut down one side of the plant in Alberta for horses so Richelieu is demanding triple the level of horses we used to send. It’ll be like the old days of 3-4 loads every week.”

I feel so hopeless.

The demand is here and it’s like a faceless black monster.

What we’ve been fighting for years, it’s evolved into something so much worse — it’s like the enemy has new weapons the size of the damn moon and we’ve got toy water shooters. This plant closing means the plant we fight against has upped the amount of horses they want to process.

Cody said, “when you said you wasn’t coming back, Dad said alright then, he said he’d ship every horse he ever saw and that’s exactly what he’s doing.”

Don’t you believe any of the crap other rescues are spouting online about only certain horses shipping, etc

They’re shipping them all. Canada, Mexico— loading them up on trucks and sending them. Other dealers all around the country are getting on the action. There’s horses from Tennessee, Alabama, Iowa, Missouri and Ohio here.

Any horse that arrived here has a certain death sentence: slaughter.

We can’t stop him from acquiring more horses.

We can’t stop slaughter single handedly.

All we can do is save the ones we can.

Each horse in here represents a life caught in this awful crossfire.

We could walk away, say screw this and head to an auction instead.

But Ally won’t leave them. She knows what happens if we do.

These horses die.

And their lives matter.

So it’s up to you, CCR.

Press on with the live feed or pack it up and go home.

This monster is the biggest one we’ve ever faced and we cannot do it this time without you.

There will be detractors ahead of us. There will be impossible odds to beat.

But these horses committed no crimes.

They don’t deserve to die. I want to help them, but I want to be perfectly honest with you— this is a battle like we’ve never seen before.

‼️ URGENT FUNDRAISER, horse needs our help! SHARE SHARE SHARE

It’s not often that I’m rendered speechless. It’s a rare occasion.

For example, seeing pictures of Sterling for the first time left me absolutely beyond words.

When I turned to see Ally’s face, I knew she felt exactly the same as I did looking at that gaunt body and terrified look in Sterling’s eyes.

I promised myself and Ally that if I ever saw a horse like her again, I would do everything in my power to help them, just like we did Sterling.

And today was the day I saw a horse that needed us as badly as Sterling did.

He’s just an old quarter horse.

And he’s absolutely emaciated. You can clearly count his ribs and bones in his spine.

He was aged around 17-18 years old with a back shaped like a banana and a perfect kiss spot right on his nose. Insert boop here, it should say.

He’s not fancy or flashy but he’s gentle as can be, and at the auction they were riding him in his current emaciated condition.

He tried his best to be a good boy. I can tell by his expression he probably always has.

He is every lesson horse, every trail string mount, every trusted best friend waiting at home for a teenage girl that we’ve all known, cherished and loved. And then he fell into the wrong hands…

The expression on his face haunts me.

Who is he looking for?

A teenage girl to come striding up to tell everyone this has been all a big mistake — her beloved horse was supposed to go to a good home, not standing in a dealer lot, waiting to head to Mexico or another auction.

An older lady gone from this world because of some tragic illness or malady? Is he waiting for the sound of her voice, the smell of her Clinique perfume, and the reassurance of her presence.

He doesn’t know neither are ever going to come.

He’s lost.

Emaciated. Unwanted. Alone.

He needs a good refeeding program. He needs knowledgeable hands and a soft landing.

We can be that for him.

And then we will look for his teenage girl, his older lady, his friend and confidante. There’s someone out there for him. I just know it…

My thoughts on horse rescue over the last two months has definitely evolved from the strict “right way vs wrong way” creed I used to live by. We used to live by.

Now I believe in helping horses, no matter where they are. No matter who owns them. Colby’s Crew was created to help horses in need.

And this guy needs us.

What do you guys think? Should we help him?

We’d like to raise $650 for his purchase price, $800 for his transport, $1200 for his quarantine, and $1450 for vet work/farrier/misc expenses. This might not cover every single cost he will incur over the next 4-6 months in the rescue, but it’s a start. We estimate each horse costs us on average $4500-$5000 from intake until adoption 4-6 months later. There is obviously some variables to this, but it’s a good rough sketch.

I really hope you guys want to help him too.

This will help towards this month’s residency costs and annual boosters/ worming for our floofs who are patiently waiting for homes.
We are also planning to return to Malaga next month to rescue another 2 or 3 of the doggies from the neglect situation, and later in the year convert an outbuilding here suitable for big Barney if a home cannot be found for him before XMas. We really don’t want him to spend another year in residency while he waits for his forever home.

CHARITY AUCTION

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who turned up last night to help raise funds for the
Spanish Dog Rescue

I can’t believe it but after a few expenses we managed to raise £448.50, especially as it’s just a small village auction.
This was more than I expected.
Plus as most of you know we still had half a trailer load that we had to load back up as we ran out of room.
It has been a lot of hard work over the last few weeks sorting all the donations especially the lady that gave us a house clearance ( which most was tool)
And lovely quality items.
It was also nice that people came and shook my hand or even gave me a hug to say how much they enjoyed it and everyone asked when our next one would be.
Well after doing our dog show four weeks ago then the auction you can imagine our house has been packed to the roof with items so I have promised my mum that we would have a hew months off and relax a bit (mainly clean up😩)
BUT my biggest thank you goes out to John who I could not have done it without. He collected things, stayed up till late and got up early making and putting out signs.
We nearly had our first domestic over this. 😂😂. Also the lady that volunteered to do the rolls and tea/coffee.
I will keep you updated as to were the cash will be going.
