Tonight - 19:15 - Othello
Captured live in the intimate, candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse earlier this year, this critically-acclaimed sold out production is not to be missed.
Celebrated by many, Othello has risen through the ranks. But can his hard-won reputation, his marriage to Desdemona, and his own subconscious survive the toxic systems that surround him?
Sixteenth-century Venice becomes modern-day London, as Othello grapples with many of the same issues that successful Black people have faced for centuries.
This is an Othello for our times.

This Friday, Arthur Fleck is back and he isn’t alone!
Joker: Folie à Deux has been granted a 15 certificate by the BBFC - and as with other recent releases, such as Deadpool & Wolverine and Alien: Romulus will may ask for ID from *anyone* that looks under 18.
We can accept Passports, Driving Licences and Any PASS accredited ID card. In some cases - we can accept other photo ID, such as a young persons Rail Card, if it is clear that it belongs to the holder and age is clarified. For example - a 16+ Travel Card with a photo might not have a printed age, but it is sufficient.
If you don’t want to carry important documents - such as your passport - we strongly recommend the YOTI app, which allows for your document to be validated in the app and a PASS ID to be generated directly from the phone. This is also useful as you can restrict information shown to just age - if you prefer.
As ever - if challenged and no ID is provided we will have no option but to refuse entry and no refund will be given (unless a Flexible Booking fee was added to the booking).
Next Weekend - Buffalo Kids.
Set in 1886 America, two young Irish siblings Mary (9-year-old) and Tom (12-year-old) arrive on an ocean liner to the hustle and bustle of New York City. Nearly penniless, they stow away on the Transcontinental Railway, meeting danger at every turn, until they join forces with a young, handicapped boy and his Governess, Eleanor, in the hopes of making it to California.

From DreamWorks Animation comes a new adaptation of a literary sensation, Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning, #1 New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot.
The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
Tickets will soon by on sale for Paddington 1 and 2!
Back for a Limited Time in October, ahead of the new film in November.
Dame Maggie Smith is a true icon of stage and screen - she may have shuffled off of this mortal coil but her legacy will endure. An acerbic line of dialogue or a stunning dramatic turn might jump to mind. A generation know her as Professor McGonagall but for others it would be Jean Brodie.
…and that’s goodbye to Oli - over nine years of service to the Luxe.
Thank you for everything mate! See you soon for a visit on the ‘other side’ of the counter!
🎄 Christmas Crackers - At the Luxe! 🎅🏼
This festive season we have two titles on sale that are perfect for ALL AGES, from the young, to the young at heart!
On Saturday 14th December at 16:00 we have a Polar Express Pyjama Party! Get cozy with your favourite PJs on, fluffy slippers and a cuddly toy as we present the greatest animated Christmas film about a train full of kids on their way to the North Pole! Of course, we will have hot chocolate available!
(Not dispensed from kettles in the aisles though, imagine the paperwork!).
Then on Christmas Eve morning at 10:15 we have Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. What better way to spend a morning than watching a young boy terrorise a couple of burglars whilst Donald Trump shows up? In many ways an improvement on the first film, this is the first time we’ve ever shown it and cannot wait!
It’s always sad when a team member moves on to the next step of their life, but it’s not often that someone who has been with us for almost a decade leaves - but this week we say goodbye to Oli.
What started as a gap-year job became something much bigger and we will miss him terribly.
From the shocking Starfish Q&A night to a T-Rex attack, by way of flooding toilets, leaking ceilings and exploding glassware - it’s been quite the ride, but all good things come to an end and it’s time to wave him off.
He has left his mark on the Luxe and I know many of you will share our sadness at seeing him go, but also our pride on how far he has come and where he heads next!
His last shifts are tonight and tomorrow daytime - so if you want to pop in - feel free.
EXTRA TWO DAYS! Our friends at Peckover House have extended our loan to cover all remaining shows, so if you are visiting to see Lee (or anything else until Friday) you can take a look at the offerings on show.
Today is your LAST CHANCE to see our Lee Miller/Penrose Family display - in partnership with the National Trust team at Peckover House.
FREE entry - just pop in and have a browse.
Doors Open from 1pm.
