It has been an enlightening afternoon, as we continue our Installer event 2024!

Here's a recap of the topics we have covered!

- Liz Cox and Lauren Withers from InstaGroup kicked off the afternoon session with a comprehensive update on the ECO4 scheme, highlighting the latest advancements and achievements in our sustainability initiatives

- Andrej Miller (Department for energy security and net zero) then took the stage again to delve into the intriguing concept of Pay For Performance and shared his vision for what lies ahead in our industry.

- Sarah Honan (The ADE) closed out the presentations with an engaging talk on Future Energy Policy, offering valuable insights into the direction of energy policy and its implications for the future.

Following these presentations, we gave attendees another opportunity to have their questions answered. Our panel of experts consisted of Liz Cox, Lauren Withers, Andrej Miller, and Sarah Honan. The panel were welcoming with all questions and provided clarity on the topics discussed.

It has been a very insightful morning at our Network event. Here is a recap of our conference so far!

- TV Journalist Sue Saville, Kicked things off with a warm welcome. Reminding everyone why we are here, and the topics that will be discussed today!
- Andrej Miller from Department for Energy and Net Zero gave us an insight into current and announced policies, updates on schemes such as The Great British Insulation Scheme and ECO4 as well as next steps.

- Following this, we held a Q&A panel, answering all things related to The Great British Insulation Scheme. The panel consisted of Andrej Miller (DESNZ), Dave Robson (InstaGroup CEO), Liz Cox (InstaGroup Energy Services Director) and Danny Godfrey (The WarmerGroup). This was a great opportunity for everyone to get their questions answered and really delve into the scheme from a customer point of view.

- Next, Rachel Croft and Paul Griffiths from InstaGroup took to the stage to officially launch InstaGen: Our all-in-one solar solution! The team explained the journey so far and gave an in-depth explanation around the InstaGen system and Equipment, including our InstaGen app. Covering both domestic and business customers – the team discussed specification, sales support and aftercare. Giving the opportunity for attendees to be one of the first to register their interest in InstaGen!

- Lastly, Nigel Donohue from the Installation Assurance Authority (The IAA) gave us
an update for The IAA and MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme). Nigel also discussed The National Energy Efficiency Centre.

It’s day four of Apprenticeship Week! 📚

Today, we'd like to highlight Kyle who started his apprenticeship in January 2023 and is presently nearing completion of a Level 5 CMI Management & Leadership Apprenticeship with InstaGroup. Below, Kyle shares his thoughts on his experience so far:

“Towards the middle of 2022, my manager brought up the idea of joining an apprenticeship programme to further develop my skills and become an overall better manager. I’ve benefitted from the apprenticeship from day one as the course went through various aspects of being a manager and I’ve been able to use this gained knowledge to better understand how to interact and manage employees, how to approach conflicts and manage operation processes, as well as so much more.

The course has been invaluable to myself, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my manager, as well as various other colleagues. Whenever I’ve needed support, InstaGroup have been able to provide me with an opportunity in which I can practice my learning. Once I’ve completed my apprenticeship, I will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership which will hopefully allow me to progress my career further with InstaGroup or allow me to seek higher level employment within other businesses”

Today, we'd like to highlight Lena who is completing a Level 3 Customer Service Apprenticeship with InstaGroup. We've asked Lena to reflect on her experience so far, and here are her thoughts:

"During my apprenticeship at InstaGroup I have received so much support across the business, including being able to turn to many people for help not just my team. I feel like I can progress massively within the company from all the support I have received and all the progress I have made so far. Having the opportunity to do my apprenticeship is already helping me develop a stronger career in the business.

InstaGroup have made it really easy to have a good college/work balance, ensuring I have time to complete my college work within my working hours without feeling overwhelmed. InstaGroup made the process very easy to enrol and helped with my whole onboarding process. I work closely with my team to deliver the best customer service we can, and college greatly supports this.

I have enjoyed the contrast between work and college the most - being able to go to college and meet new people whilst learning new skills, makes me feel like I’m not missing out on any experiences all while still working on my future career. I wouldn’t want to be doing my apprenticeship anywhere else!"

‘My time as an apprentice with InstaGroup has been amazing. The setup they have, along with the support from mentors, has really helped me grow professionally. I've loved getting my hands dirty with practical work while also diving into the theoretical side of things. It's given me loads of confidence and skills that will stay with me throughout my life. I am so grateful for this experience’
