Still have a bit to go with returning this lawn back to a beautiful lawn. But after 1 treatment is definitely doing its job, was full of w**ds and weak unhealthy grass. Just shows that when you use the right products it can come back.
Scarification is due in autumn to remove the moss and dead material, then it will be👌

Been looking forward to coming back to this one to apply it’s winter treatment.

This one was done middle September and had the worst moss problem of them all this year.

Scarified, over seeded and top dressed with top soil

The only alternative to fix this lawn would be to rip it up completely and re turf it, this would of cost 3 to 4 times as much for the same result.

This was done at the start of September, was thick with Moss and had a unhealthy thatch layer that had caused the issues with the lawn

Aeration is a way to get nutrients and moisture down into the root zone of grass. It also combats compaction of soil from people walking on it and mowing.

A hollow tine aerator pulls plugs from the ground leaving small holes allowing the soil and roots breath again, encouraging growth and health.
The plugs will be collected and disposed of.

At Lawnscience I use a total kill herbicide that cannot be bought over the counter and one you need a licence to apply, which will remove even the most stubborn w**ds. I will ensure that the herbicide is professionally and carefully applied, only ever when the weather conditions are correct. Within 10 - 14 days, the dead w**ds will be ready for you to brush off with a stiff broom to remove all traces of them.

Tip

Height of Cut (HOC)

The height of cut can depend on your requirements and preference. Some people like a short neat look while others prefer a long lush lawn. It is worth bearing in mind that more grass blade will be exposed to sunlight, thus aiding plant health.

1/3rd Rule

When cutting your lawn, you should aim to cut no more that on 3rd of the overall height. See picture below. The reason for this is the grass plant with easily recover from this and you will maintain your green lush lawn. If you cut lower than this, you risk stressing the plant. If you wish to go beyond the 3rd rule height, it is recommended you do it in stages over several days to not over stress the plant.
