If this looks familiar, there is a good chance it’s not dry skin but due to an overgrowth of yeast on your skin. Solution? Wash your face with Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo as it contains ketoconazole which is anti fungal.

Why Do Lips Get So Chapped? 

Lips are particularly susceptible to getting dry and chapped because they don’t have the same top layer of keratin and oil-producing pores that the rest of your skin has.

For these reasons, lips are particularly vulnerable to the elements—not only damage from the sun but also from wind, cold, or hot temperature conditions. Because there is even less of a barrier to the outside world, the need for additional protection from natural elements is even more critical.

Prevention is better than cure! it is much easier to stay ahead of dry lips than to try to heal the lips once they are dry and irritated.

Don’t Lick Your Lips

It only makes the problem worse because the saliva evaporates quickly, leaving your lips even drier than before. Additionally, enzymes in saliva can break down the delicate skin on your lips, leading to further irritation and chapping. 

Ensure your daily UV goes over lips too!

Ensure your hydrating serums go over your lips as they are often neglected.

Finish with an occlusive product - nothing fragranced! Such as Aquaphor healing ointment in a thin layer.

It’s unlikely that the makeup itself is magically healing your acne, but it can have an indirect benefit… You probably touch your face less when you have it on. It’s like when nail biters wear polish, every time you see the nail polish, it’s a reminder not to ruin your nails.
The same goes for your carefully applied foundation—since you don’t want to smudge it, you’re less likely to poke, squeeze, or otherwise mess with your face which in turn can help your acne.

If this is you now that autumn is well on its way… if you’ve developed a couple of patches that have gone a little flaky (brows, corner of eyes and corner of mouth is common) apply a layer of Aquaphor healing ointment, last thing at night onto just these areas to help prevent any flaking.
