At our UK dental practice, we design and place bridges that have been made just for you. Using images and measurements of the treatment area, the dental laboratory constructs your bridge to our specifications, including shape, size, and colour. Bridges from smile2o are custom-made to look and feel like your natural teeth.

Dental bridge treatment requires multiple appointments. Your first appointment will include your examination, tooth preparation, and treatment planning. When your new bridge is ready, we will have you back for a second appointment. After checking the fit and ensuring you are happy with the appliance, we use a special dental adhesive to affix the bridge to your abutment teeth or implants.

Are you considering a root canal treatment, but are not sure of the signs?

Indications that a root canal may be needed include severe toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures, swelling or tenderness in the gums, darkening of the tooth, or a small bump on the gums near the affected tooth.

Other signs for root canal treatment include:
🦷 Tooth sensitivity to sweets
🦷 Tooth pain to biting pressure
🦷 Impulsive, constant, or intermittent toothache
🦷 Tissue swelling of the face

If you ever have a concern about your oral health, we recommend seeking an expert opinion at our practice as soon as possible. If you require a root canal, it’s best to resolve the issue before it worsens.

At smile2o, we invest in dental tools and technology that enhance the patient experience. Delivering local anaesthetic is no different, as we use the computer-controlled WAND™.

This computer-assisted device is far superior to traditional syringe injections because it helps guide anaesthesia delivery, offering patients less discomfort and no collateral numbness. The WAND™ delivers anaesthesia at a precise and consistent rate below your pain threshold, keeping you as comfortable as possible throughout a numbing treatment.

To find out more about this and other technologies used within our practice visit our link in bio!

Our attentive and expert dentists have placed many implants over the years, giving patients a long-term solution for missing teeth. Some patients have described dental implants as “the next best thing to a natural tooth.”

There are many advantages for those who opt for dental implants, including:

🦷 A comfortable fit, wherein patients can seldom tell the difference between a tooth with a dental implant and a natural tooth.
🦷 Replacement teeth that behave like natural teeth — enabling you to chew, speak, or even clean your teeth without special considerations.
🦷 The presence of an implant prevents bone loss by providing the needed stimulation for natural bone growth.
🦷 Implants prevent the surrounding natural teeth from shifting, rotating, or becoming crooked.
🦷 You gain renewed confidence when speaking and self-esteem through your appearance.
🦷 They may last a lifetime (though the crown, bridge, or denture may need replacing over the years)
🦷 Implants prevent remaining teeth from shifting, rotating, and becoming crooked.

Issue: Severely discoloured teeth
Treatment: Porcelain bonded veneers

This young lady had no confidence in her smile and was extremely unhappy with the appearance of her upper front teeth. She was referred to our specialist centre after having orthodontic treatment by a colleague at another dental practice.

Our lead clinical specialist, Dr Wayne Williams, examined and consulted with the patient and explained the cause of the problem: fluorosis. This fluoride staining can occur from overexposure to fluoride while the teeth develop.

We discussed options for long-term restorative-cosmetic treatment with the patient and agreed on what would be best for her. To help restore her self-confidence by improving her dental appearance, we placed porcelain veneers on her two central incisor teeth. We used highly aesthetic composite materials to build up the two lateral incisor teeth.

The patient is delighted with her new smile and has subsequently told us how much this has helped restore her self-esteem.

Some may find that having dental treatment stressful and may opt for sedation during their procedure.

Our resident dentist Dr Henriette Williams explains how we work closely with a London based specialist who provides the best quality of intravenous or IV sedation for our patients.

Compared to oral sedation, IV sedation is more reliable as the medication is administered directly into the bloodstream. Additionally, conscious sedation is more suitable for patients with gagging reflex problems, as it can make them more relaxed as dental work occurs.

If you are due dental treatment but feel you could benefit from the reduced anxiety that IV sedation can provide, contact the practice today on 0118 978 6083.

As with other types of dentistry, treating periodontal issues offers advantages to your health. These are just some of the ways effective periodontal treatment can help you.

Reduced Inflammation and Bleeding
As common symptoms of periodontal disease, bleeding and inflammation can indicate more severe health conditions it is important to address these issues promptly.

Improved Oral Hygiene
Periodontal treatment can help individuals improve their oral hygiene habits by providing tools and a care routine. These approaches to oral health can help address any present gum disease and prevent it from worsening.

Decreased Bone Loss
Gum disease can lead to bone loss in the jaw, and this is another reason why addressing periodontal issues as early as possible is critical for your overall well-being. Since periodontal treatment can help slow or stop bone loss, it is important to follow the instructions given by your dentist or periodontist as part of your treatment program.

Preserve Your Teeth
Periodontal treatment can stabilise the gums and possibly save teeth that would otherwise be lost due to oral disease. Many patients don’t realise that gums are a key to understanding one’s overall health. By caring for your gums, you may be able to avoid losing teeth.

Enhance Comfort
Periodontal treatment can help reduce pain and sensitivity in the gums and teeth, increasing comfort.

Improve Your Confidence
A healthy and beautiful smile is an attractive quality. You can show off your best self by caring for and maintaining your teeth and gums.

With the upsurge in news articles surrounding dental tourism, here is some food for thought when considering treatment abroad: Poor Quality Treatment Without previous consultations, follow up appointments or aftercare the likelihood of rushed poor quality treatment is high. You may not receive the results you were looking for and there is a higher risk of developing complications. Communication Issues Often where these treatments are offered English may not be the treatment provider's first language. This may mean there is a barrier when trying to communicate the treatment you wish to have or problems that may occur. Further Complications Once you have had treatment you may find there are further issues that develop. Increased sensitivity, bacteria infections or generalised pain are some of the problems that may emanate.

Have you heard of 'The Privilege Plan'? The Privilege Plan gives you access to exclusive benefits within the practice and reduced fees for routine care and general and specialist dental treatments. Attending regular check-ups enables us to help you maintain your oral and dental health more effectively. Want to find out more? Call the practice on 0118 978 6083 to find out more.
