Come and support the Focused Friends group at Acorn Community Centre on Tuesday 14th March 10:30-12:30. There will be cakes and homemade cards for sale to support the creation of their Remembrance Garden. The Acorn Cafe will be open for hot drinks 🙂

We've had to pull back a bit on our opening times but we'd love to see you 09:30am - 2pm Tuesday to Friday.

Tropical Plants Sale at Acorn - this Friday and (stock dependent) on Saturday. Growing Places have been given some beautiful Tropical House Plants, they are all freshly delivered, mature and in tip top condition. They come from a film shoot and the owner is very happy to donate them to Growing Places to support the charity.

Come and buy some winter bedding colour for your garden. All plants are grown by our Day Services clients, supported by Growing Places charity - read about their initiative on their new website www.growingplacesberkshire.org.uk

To celebrate our new opening hours we are offering Buy One Get One Free on hot drinks until 21st October. Just show this card at the till. There is no limit to the number of times you use it, and please feel free share with others who may be interested.

Swap a book from home or make a donation to Growing Places. The book swap is situated in Acorn Cafe - why not stay for a cuppa and relax for a while? We're open 09:30-13:00 Tuesday to Friday and will be extending our hours in October - watch this space!

Thank you to all who joined in with our WASTE ACTION DAY yesterday. SHARE were busy handing out samples of their leftovers recipes and visitors made waste reduction pledges, with one lucky person winning a £20 Maya's Refillables voucher. Artwork by our local Year 6s is now available to view in the Acorn foyer and we'll be announcing which Ali's Recycling projects we'll be running very soon.

Come along to our Waste Action Day on Tuesday 12th July 10:00-13:00 and vote for which Ali's Recycling schemes you would like us to run here at Acorn. Don't forget your resuable cup for your half-price drink!

We have had lots of beautiful entries for our Year 6 Art Competition 🙂

We know we need to tackle climate change, but sometimes it seems like a huge, unattainable task.

Think of a tiny acorn. It has the potential to change landscapes, to create something much bigger than itself.

In the same way, our climate change efforts may seem small,
but they have powerful potential.

As part of their Waste Action Day on July 12th, the Acorn Community Centre has been running a Year 6 Art Competition for Woosehill schools, to celebrate the potential of the acorn and to inspire us in our efforts to tackle climate change.

All entries will be on display at Waste Action Day next Tuesday 12th July 10:00-13:00. The winner will receive a £10 voucher to spend at Maya's Refillables in Wokingham.

Don't forget it's our Waste Action Day next Tuesday with stalls to browse and get ideas for reducing your waste.

The cafe will be open for hot and cold drinks - bring your reusable coffee cup and get a hot drink half price!

Acorn Community Centre updated their business hours.

Hello from Acorn! We are (slowly!) getting the cafe up and running again and are keen for it to be a place for the local community to relax and enjoy some welcome refreshment in our busy world.

We are currently looking for donations of unwanted teapots. If you have a good condition plain coloured teapot like the ones here that you don't need anymore, we would be happy to take it off your hands - please bring it in between 09:30-13:00 Tues to Fri or contact Miriam - 07902 401986 and we can collect.
