We all struggle with fear and worry at times in our lives. It may be about your work. It may be about your relationships. It may be about your children. If you let it, fear can stop you moving forward.

Meanwhile, being courageous allows you to take chances, to pursue your dreams, and to get what you want out of life.

Here are just a few ideas to help you to embrace courage:

➡️Maintain a healthy perspective.
➡️Identify your strengths.
➡️Consider different scenarios.
➡️Practice leaving your comfort zone.
➡️Reduce your stress.
➡️Celebrate courageous actions.
➡️Welcome failure.

Coaching can help you to identify your fears, to proactively work through them and to build the life that you have always wanted. Be courageous. 🤍

Happy Mothers Day 🤍

08/03/2023

Happy International Women’s Day. 🤍

Supporting women is what I do. It’s what I’ve chosen to do after many years working for a large corporate. It’s where my passion lies.

I believe fiercely that women should be able to have it all. It’s tough. There are still so many challenges. But by standing up, using my voice and supporting other women I hope that I am helping to make change happen.

Well done to all the strong and amazing women out there - you are enough! And thank you to all the strong and amazing men out there actively supporting the changes that are needed. You know who you are!

Let’s keep fighting the fight for the good of our society.

These people are ‘energy givers’ - the people that you come away from feeling positive, inspired and up beat. The people that you miss when you don’t see them for a while. The ones that you need ‘a fix’ of to lift your spirits and reignite your energy. Spend more time with these people.

Then there are those that drain your energy. You have to ‘prepare yourself’ before seeing them or ‘recover’ after. They may be competitive, jealous, selfish or untrustworthy. They probably don’t have your best interests at heart. Limit your time with these people if you are able. If you are not able to, recognise what you can do to make the time together more energising and less draining for you. Prepare before seeing them, and allow yourself some space afterwards.

Managing your personal energy is powerful. Making sure you have the right balance between people and things that energise and those that drain you is critical to your well-being.

If you need help or support with this then please reach out. 🤍

Happy Valentine’s Day 💝

I really can’t believe that my husband and I have had 25 of these before today.

I love this poem that I believe sums up love so very beautifully.

Love doesn’t live in a diamond
Or a candlelit dinner for two
Love isn’t just like the fairytale
Love doesn’t start in a shoe

Love doesn’t need money
Or a holiday in the sun
Love doesn’t come with conditions
Or depend on the joy and the fun

Love comes in everyday moments
Like a text to say thinking of you
Love is a call in the morning
To give you the will to push through

Love is listening to worries
And giving your problems an ear
Love is the not giving up
Love is the need to be near

Love isn’t always romantic
It’s shouty, ugly and true
It’s the breaking and growing together
Love doesn’t start with a shoe

I learned this the hard way. Look out for these signs:
➡️You’re experiencing pain - headaches/neck/shoulders
➡️You’re always tired
➡️Your patience is wearing thin
➡️You can’t remember the last time you enjoyed yourself
➡️Your relationships are struggling
➡️Your personal and professional space is a mess
➡️You’re glued to your work phone
➡️You’re unclear about your priorities and so find it difficult to say no
➡️You strive for perfection.

Getting your work-life balance under control is essential to avoiding burnout. Be mindful when any of the above arise and take action.

Pop over to my website or DM me if you’d like some help. 🤍

A poignant post for over-givers. Boundary work is one of the most common coaching requirements that I come across in my client work. Particularly with women. Once you have awareness around it, and take action, it can be one of the most impactful changes that you can make for yourself and your happiness. ❤️

If this resonates for you and you would like to know more pop over to my website or DM me.

“There is more to you than what you are capable of giving others and providing for them.

There is more to you than what you are willing to sacrifice for others and give up in your own life in order to make them happy.

There is more to you than what you do for others and the world.

You are not everyone’s healer, you are not everyone’s parent or guardian, you are not everyone’s saviour and giving is not your only purpose in life.

Sometimes when we feel unloved by others around us we settle for being needed.

We overextend ourselves and overgive so that in return they will like us.

We attempt to please them at the expense of pleasing ourselves.

Failing to realise that by people-pleasing we are attempting to manipulate others into liking us , and that when we continually say “yes” when we secretly mean “no” we can be left feeling resentful.

When we are authentic and can kindly let others know through active communication what our true beliefs, desires and intentions are, and are honest and upfront about our boundaries, the outcome is much better for both them and ourselves in the long-term.

When it comes to others making large demands and requests of you always remember that just as you are capable others are capable.

Others are capable of taking action in their own lives, others are capable of deciding for themselves what is best for them and others are capable of relying on themselves or seeking help from someone else rather than you.

And so you may give them the space and freedom to be able to effectively show up for themselves and allow them to empower themselves.

And instead, choose to give from a place of love and kindness when you feel you want to. Donate your time, possessions and energy to others from a place of abundance and generosity, rather than simply out of obligation.

As others are not entitled to your help, others are not entitled to your energy or resources, nor to your time and attention.

And just as we set boundaries with others, we must also set them with ourselves and ensure that we are respecting our own time and energy just as much as the time and energy of others.”

Burnout is real. Burnout in women is more common than you might think, and more prevalent than in men.

According to McKinsey & Lean In’s 2022 Women In The Workplace Report, 43% of women are being burnt out (compared to 31% of men).

Jacinda Ardern was courageous to put her hand up and say that ‘she no longer had enough in the tank’ to do the role justice. She put herself first. She put her well-being first. Sadly, not everyone feels able to do this. And should they have to? Should we not be able to live a more balanced life rather than having to give ‘our everything’ to work, careers and others. There must be a better way of working to protect our happiness and our well-being, and to be able to spend time and focus equally on our family, ourselves and our work.

Symptoms of burnout to look out for are:

👉Feeling exhausted, drained and empty
👉Sense of failure and self doubt
👉Loss of motivation
👉Feeling helpless, trapped, hopeless and defeated
👉Decreased satisfaction and low self fulfilment
👉Feeling alone and detached
👉Frequent headaches or muscle pain
👉Procrastination
👉Forgetfulness
👉Using alcohol, food or drugs to cope
👉Impatience & frustration.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of burnout and would like support I’d love to help you. I’ve been there. I’ve worked on rebalancing my life, but it’s been hard and it requires constant work. It is worth it. There is balance to be found. I truly hope that Jacinda finds it, and I hope that you too can should you need to.

Meeting yourself. Spending time doing just this is powerful. It’s powerful for you. It’s essential for your happiness, for your sense of fulfilment, for your well being and for your love of life. 🤍

All too often we lose touch with who we are, what makes us happy, what makes us laugh out loud, what makes us feel connected and what energises us. We forget who we are. We focus on everyone else.

Coaching is a powerful way to put yourself first. It focuses you on you. It’s a safe space to reconnect with yourself and work on your own happiness and fulfilment. It can be truly life changing.

If you’d like to understand more pop over to my website or DM me. I’d love to help.

REMEMBER HER?

Somewhere inside of you,
there’s a little firecracker with her arms folded and a frown on her face.
She isn’t happy about all the times you said no when you wanted to say yes.
All the times you said yes when you wanted to say no.
She wanted you to buy the ticket.
She wanted you to take that trip.
She definitely wanted you to take that risk,
the one that may have just opened a whole new world.
She wants you to remember what it feels like to run to the sea without a care in the world and splash and laugh till you ache. To face the day without a fear in your heart and embrace every opportunity that comes.
She doesn’t understand why you won’t wear the bikini.
She doesn’t understand why you won’t eat the cake.
She doesn’t understand why you don’t let it go.
She definitely doesn’t understand why you accept second best.
Somewhere inside there is a little girl who wonders at the adult you’ve become..
She still has many things she wants to learn and so many people still to meet.
She still has food she’d like to taste and parties she wants to dance at.
She still has places she wants to visit and wonders she wants to stare at.
Somewhere inside you, there is a little firecracker, desperate to see more of this thing we call life.
Go get her, she’s fun.

These words by Donna Ashworth resonate. Do they speak to you? Have you lost your way, your sense of fun, purpose and fulfilment?

If you’re ready to rediscover your happy, confident, fun seeking self then please do reach out to me. I can help. I’d love to help. Make this year count. For you. Take responsibility.
