As a reward for completing Lower School, Year Eight pupils enjoyed a day at the University of Worcester's Lakeside Campus. The day was designed to allow pupils to work through a series of challenges with their friends, giving plenty of opportunity for team building activities and taking part in both land and water activities.
We recently hosted a mock election to give our pupils a taste of the UK's General Election, this event was all about fun and learning! ๐ณ๏ธ
We mirrored the Worcester constituency parties: Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrats, Green, and Reform Party. Each party had a Lower Sixth leader, and we looked for candidates from every year group to join them.
Every Year group acted as a โconstituencyโ, electing its own โMember of Parliamentโ. If a party didn't have a candidate in a year group, that was okayโit mirrored the real UK system! For instance, Year Seven pupils chose from Year Seven candidates.
The election commenced with hustings during assemblies where each Lower Sixth party leader (and any candidates who wished to) delivered a three-minute speech on their party's policies.
Embarking on an incredible journey to Oxford University with our Year Ten pupils! ๐๐
From preparing for the Oxbridge application process at RGS Worcester to providing ongoing support for our pupils.
