I have had such a lovely surprise, my friend who is the most wonderful artist, surprised me with a portrait of my handsome boy Dekka. It left me speechless and choked up when I saw it, his artwork is super fantastic and the lifelike details of my boy is amazing. I really can’t thank him enough. Such a beautiful and kind thing to do and I will treasure it forever ❤️. Spent the last few days and nights at my studio, having a move about and tidying up after the work that was done on the studio wall by my landlord. Still lots to do but it’s given me time to reflect and know that my heart is still here and 2024 will be all about making time to be here as much as possible. ❤️ solitude can be a wonderful thing ❤️ “A little while alone in your room will prove more valuable than anything else that could ever be given you. “ - Rumi ….. More productivity
More creativity
Less stress
The ultimate benefit of solitude? You get to know yourself. And when you know yourself, you find inner peace.
Keep in mind: you can be happy, even alone. Just focus on health and a project you love.

Before Christmas (14th December) my handsome old boy gained his angel wings. The hole he has left in my heart is unbelievable. He will be even more missed when I go back to the studio ❤️💔. “Sometimes losing a pet is more painful than losing a human because in the case of the pet, you were not pretending to love it.”

To my sweet boy Dekka, I have loved you since I rescued you at approx 14 months old and now you are over 14. I have loved you for most of your life and I will miss you for the rest of mine. To call you a dog hardly seems to do you justice, though inasmuch as you have four legs, a tail, and barked, you are a sensitive, caring, quirky boy with a side streak of menace, a best friend. You have driven me to despair at times, I needed about three sofas a year for several years, chewing doors, pulling door frames off and being the most destructive boy, you have also been my best friend and got me through a lot of sad times, comforted me and gave me hugs. Not to mention the laughter and happiness you bring with your quirky ways, not wanting a twig but rather the whole branch, teetering along trying to carry it, trying to trim my finger nails, being a Mr jealous pants and squeezing in between me and a friend when sat on the couch, so many I can think of right now.

This is not goodbye it’s just au revoir until we meet again. I love you. For now run pain free my boy with Maltida once again R.I.P 💔 ❤️

When I said I wanted to get back to this studio this month, having to have some work completed has been a little bit of a set back, having to cover everything but another couple of weeks won’t hurt 🥰

Mostly Felt - fantastic group exhibition at Weavers Gallery in Ledbury until this coming Sunday. Really worth a visit if you can make it 🥰

Not been well for the past week and for the last couple of days it’s been bed and sofa days, so started making cordage from a pile of dandelions I picked and dried several weeks ago, hate sitting and doing nothing when I have a long list of things to get done. This was and is very satisfying.

Finding my mojo, I’ve been away from my studio more often than not the last 16 months and finally I am back to start experimenting and getting back to creativity other than DIY 🥰. No plans for this piece it’s developing as I go along. Life can be good if you never give up ….. keep going ❤️
