Chef / Cook Required

Ravenmeadow is a family golf centre and is looking to expand its food offering.

We have a diverse customer base with regular members as well as visitors and families.

We are looking for a chef / cook to join our f&b department who is versatile and prepared to work as part of our small team.

The role will be predominantly day times but there will be requirements some evenings (mainly Friday and Saturday) to service our functions.

Salary dependant on experience (around £13 per hour)

Welcome Jack

I am pleased to announce that our new head green keeper has started.

Jack joins us from Shipton Golf Club where he had been Head Greenkeeper for 3 years. Previous to that Jack learnt his trade at Cirencester Golf Club.

Jack is a Level 3 qualified Greenkeeper and I know he is keen to take on the challenge of a bigger team and larger golf centre.

I am looking forward to working with Jack and for him to lead the team and improve the course over time. His experience and "golfers" eye will help to build on the foundations that have been put in place. He is currently getting a feel for the land and am sure that you will see the changes that a fresh pair of hands can often bring.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated, Greenkeeper to lead the team at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre.
Ravenmeadow is a busy golf centre with extensive facilities. We have and 18-hole course set in around 110 acres, driving range, pitch & putt course and adventure golf course.

The course has seen considerable improvement over the last 5 years and an opportunity has arisen for a new greenkeeper to lead further improvement in the golf offering.

Essential Requirements:

Technical

• High level of greenkeeping and agronomy skills .
• Integrated Turf Management practices – a good knowledge of fertilisers, seeding,
irrigation and soil moisture control and the ability to implement work
programmes.
• Machinery – highly competent in the use of a wide variety of machinery and
experience of machinery maintenance and procurement.
• Health & Safety - knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance

Management:

• Proven team leader - ability to manage and motivate the greens staff. Setting
daily/weekly operational work programmes and monitoring performance.
• Attention to detail - to present the course to the highest standard and installing
this culture in the wider team.
• Budget management – to be able to work to a budget and help prepare plans for
projects and future years.
• Work together with the Director of Golf- defining strategies and major projects.

Professional qualifications:

• S/NVQ level 2 in turf management or equivalent. (desirable)
• NPTC: PA1, PA2, and PA6 spray qualifications.
• Full driving licence
• Chainsaw certificates (desirable)

Remuneration:

This is a full-time position including weekends on a rota basis. Flexibility is required and often essential to meet the needs of the business. A competitive salary is on offer for the right candidate with the relevant knowledge and experience.
