We offer a wealth of services to vulnerable people, whilst supporting Carers to Care Best S.T.A.R.S Adult Day Care Centre Worcester
The post that we didn’t want to have to write 😢
It’s been a tough couple of months (well longer) everyone has their Covid stories and unfortunately this is the end of ours.
The emotions are hard to articulate when you can’t save something that you’ve put your heart and soul into for 13 years, but know we tried every single thing we could, it just wasn’t to be.
We have had the privilege and honour of taking care of some amazing ladies and gents and all became family, we have had some amazing staff and students through our doors and we hope that they carry a bit of STARS with them always. I know we will, which means it never really ends.
We are going to take a step back to rest, recalibrate and recover as a family, we will be back though 🙂
Thank you to everyone who has in any way supported the business, from volunteering to sharing a post, we love you all.
Our last working day will be Friday 30th August.
For now though…. It’s goodbye from all at STARS.
Small in number but mighty in voice ❤️🫶🏻
Next session is the 18th July 🎵 🎶
Forget-Me-Nots Dementia Choir Worcester
Zoe Francis
My Music Works
Today we received the devastating news that one of our lovely gents died peacefully last night; Norman was an intergral part of STARS & we’ve missed his presence here for months now.
He used to call me by his Grandaughters name, which was nice because he felt he was surrounded by family. Well he was and he will ALWAYS be a part of the STARS family & in my heart. Because I loved him like my own & that will never change.
My favourite picture of us together below.
So here’s a thumbs up 👍🏻 for you on your next journey, may you be at peace, but also, give them hell up there Normy 🫶🏻
Thanks for waiting for me to visit
RIP you beautiful, feisty and sweet gentleman ❤️ you were so loved by so many, especially Debbie, Jodie and Becky ❤️
(Shared with permission)

As many of you know, we’ve long believed in the incredible power of music to uplift, heal, and bring people together. And now, we’re beyond excited to channel that belief into something truly meaningful with the creation of our choir. 🎵💖
This choir isn't just about singing; it's about creating a supportive and inclusive space where individuals living with dementia and their caregivers can find solace, joy, and a sense of community. It's about using the universal language of music to touch hearts, spark memories, and spread love. 🌈🎶
So, whether you're a seasoned singer or someone who simply loves to listen, I invite you to join us on this extraordinary journey. Together, let's make beautiful music and create moments that will be cherished forever. 🎤🎼
Stay tuned for updates on rehearsals, events, and ways to get involved. And please, spread the word to anyone who you think might benefit from being a part of our choir family. Let's make a difference, one song at a time! 🎉🎶

On Friday’s we will focus on one of us, so you can get to know us a bit better 🙂
Next up…. Helena 🙂
1. Favourite colour: Green, which I sometimes make plainly obvious with head to toe green outfits including my emerald engagement ring 🙂
2. Favourite Film: ohhhh, too many to name, but some childhood faves… the goonies, labrynth, willow and more recently pacific rim!
3. Favourite cartoon character: don’t really have a favourite - if pushed probably Pluto, I can do a mean impression of his laugh 😆
4. Favourite meal: anything colourful, veggie and tasty 😁
5. Reasons why you love care so much: I am realising as I get older, that caring for people is in my blood, I do it without realising and it is something that brings me immense joy 🥰
6. Best thing you’ve learnt about life: that everything happens for a reason and that you never know what is round the corner.
7. Your proudest moment: without a shadow of a doubt, the moment my son’s adoption became official 😃
8. Your 3 dream dinner guests: dean martin (my favourite singer) elvis Presley (because.., well he’s elvis) and king Henry 8th!
9. Interesting fact: I am a netball umpire, it’s my team sport 🙂
10. Finally… who is the person that has inspired you the most: I am inspired by the people around me, successful people, kind people, funny people… etc! But mainly I am inspired by the children in my life, they show me the world in a different way and always inspire me to be the best version of myself 🫶🏻
Hope you’ve learnt a bit more about me 🙂

6. Best thing you’ve learnt about life: everything happens for a reason, just be patient & the reason will show itself.
7. Your proudest moment: so many, but professionally- any time I make one of our ladies & gents smile 😃
8. Your 3 dream dinner guests: all of my grandparents (who have all sadly passed over) so that’s 4 🤪
9. Interesting fact: I love Martial Arts, Samurai history and Anime
10. Finally… who is the person that has inspired you the most: I think you should inspire yourself 😁

STARS wants to celebrate all of the women who are associated with, cared for and are friends and family of STARS…..
Here’s to strong women…. May we know them. May we raise them. May we be them.’
STARS Carer Services has been working hard behind the scenes to get our services up & running, but also trying to get our faces in front of the right people to affect change.
The lovely Lynn Denham of Cathedral Ward attended our Launch Party; Lynn is heavily involved in the area of Dementia & is a major part of the Local Dementia Action Alliance.
Today we also met with Robin Walker, Conservative MP for Worcester, to discuss some ideas we have had for new services that require more involvement from major players.
Disclaimer: this is NOT a political post, we are just trying to illustrate how hard we are working to affect change in our local community.
Stanley Road Primary School (next to The Centre) are having a rally this Friday (9th Feb) to campaign for a zebra crossing outside the school.
Two kids have been knocked over & injured recently, so fingers crossed they make enough noise to get what they need to keep the kids safe 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Please share if you can, let’s help to get them a big crowd 👊🏻💪🏻
Why not head over to our website and sign up for our newsletter. It will give info on our new services as they launch, event info (by our event arm TBK Events) and bts bits & pieces that only subscribers will see.

Home | Stars Carer Services STARS Carer Services is a carer-led, family-run CIC; it was borne out of STARS Adult Day Centre, (founded in 2012) to better support carers through their journey.
After some great advice & a bit of time to think, we have decided to change the name of this page to STARS Carer Services and have EVERYTHING going through this page, instead of having many other pages 😂
Therefore, if you’re already following this page, you’re in the right place 😁
So don’t panic when this page changes name, it’s still us, just a lot more of us & the exciting things we’ll hopefully be starting really soon 🌟
As part of our commitment to supporting carers as best we can, we would like to create a Carers Committee.
We aren’t exactly sure how it will look yet, but we’d love to get past/present/professional carers, or anyone who works in a Health and Social care setting, together in a room regularly and hash out ideas to try and fill gaps in support, or discuss what works well and how we can strengthen those areas.
If you feel this is something you would like to do alongside us, then please let us know by commenting on this post or messaging STARS or myself or Helena personally 😃
And as always, thanks for your continued support ❤️
Happy New Year all & may 2024 be a happy & healthy year for all 🥳
As for us, we’re still hard at work organising our relaunch party which is the 25th January 4pm - 6pm Arch 27 🥳🤩
Our new website www.starscarerservices.co.uk will be up and running soon, with lots more information on our new services!
Exciting times ahead for STARS & we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the years and for our future endeavours ❤️
Day 16 and the last day of our CHRISTMAS JUMPER ADVENT CALENDAR: I was thinking about previous Christmas jumper advent calendars and that led me to look back through old pictures. So I created a collage of memories of ladies & gents (including my beautiful Nan) we have loved and lost.
This is STARS signing off for 2023, we’ll see you all in 2024 for exciting times ahead ❤️
We reopen on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 and we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🥳
