Jamie and his wife Jodie recently welcomed a baby boy, George to their family ❤️

George's red back boots and chainsaw trousers are already on order and he will be on site soon...

Last week the team were tasked with the removal of this beautiful Oak Tree due to it being condemned. This was for one of our regular commercial clients following on from an tree survey that identified multiple rot pockets and severe decay from a previous lightening strike (see the second photo for the scar!⚡️)

This was carried out by the A-Team in one day by the use of our specialist equipment to minimise potential risk.

Shires Ground Maintenance

This dangerous poplar tree was removed by the team a couple of weeks ago in the heart of Kidderminster. The tree was removed due to decay and the risk of falling on nearby properties. We drafted in help from our friends at Colledge Tree & Landscape as there was little space to work on ground and limited access. Russ did a great job with the crane allowing Jamie and the team to safely fell the tree.

We are now an approved to sell Ready To Burn firewood! 🔥

The Log Store has been busier than ever this season improving the storing and drying facilities for our logs we provide to all of our fabulous clients.

From November 2021 we have secured our accreditation with Woodsure Ltd.

As many of our customers are already aware, from April 2022, the Ready To Burn Scheme will be rolled out as a new regulation, that both suppliers and customers will need to adhere to. This new regulations ensures consumers are supplied with the best quality dried wood, to protect our forever changing climate.

'Woodsure Ltd is the DEFRA appointed certification body to administer the Ready to Burn Scheme as recognised in The Air Quality(Domestic Solid Fuels Standards)(England) Regulations'

🔥We currently have 100's of loads of barn dried logs in stock and batches of logs coming out of our kiln drier every week. 🔥

The Shires Ground Maintenance team are looking to expand! We are a small and friendly family run business looking to take on an expereinced tree climber. The ideal candidate would have sound knowledge of the job, be confident in all aspects of tree felling, rigging, pruning, and complex tree work. Ideally we would like someone with at least 2 years of experiences. You need to be reliable and happy to muck in and works as part of team.

We are initially looking to take someone on on a self-employed basis, however we would be happy to potentially look at employing the right candidate in the future. ( if you wished too)

DESIRABLE

- Full UK Driving Licence ( B+E Trailer Licence )

- Confident with rigging techniques & crane works

- CSCS Card

-IPAF Ticket (MWEP)

ESSENTAIL

-Tickets - CS30, CS31, CS32, CS38 & CS39

-2 Years Experience

- Competent in climbing large trees

-Sound job knowledge

-Reliable

-Team Player

FULL-TIME

PART-TIME

WEEKEND

8hr-10hr Days

3-4 days a week (most likely increase for the right person!)

Would need to be DBS checked ( again, we would be happy to do this for the right person)
