Rhea received her portrait session as an 18th birthday gift from her mum. She had been battling many insecurities and inner criticism about her looks and body (even though she was naturally stunning). Her priority was to find a female photographer who would not only boost her confidence but also create a safe space for her to feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Rhea had a clear vision for her makeup, and given her own skills in applying it, it was essential to get it exactly right. My incredible makeup artist Bea BP Makeup Beauty perfectly executed Rhea’s vision, creating a stunning Korean-inspired look that enhanced her natural beauty while leaving her looking fresh and radiant.

During our wardrobe consultation, I asked Rhea how she wanted to be photographed. She envisioned a princess or fairy tale theme—something ethereal. We took some beautiful photos in a big tulle skirt and a flower crown, but as we continued, it became clear that these images, while lovely, didn’t capture her true essence.

What I sensed from Rhea was a budding woman with a beautiful, emerging female energy that she was just beginning to recognize in herself. The second part of our session reflected this transformation, not just in makeup, hair, and outfits, but in Rhea's energy and presence. The images we created were authentic and powerful and exceeded Rhea's expectations.

Sandra, a remarkable woman in her 60s, has overcome many challenges with grace and resilience. After avoiding cameras for over a decade, Sandra entrusted me creation of her portraits, determined to love her body again and to celebrate her journey.

Sandra's portrait session was not just about pampering and taking beautiful images; it was a co-creative process where we explored her ideas and visions together. One of Sandra's powerful concepts involved showcasing her strength and femininity through a temporary stick-on tattoo on her partially removed breast and the side of her face, symbolising her journey through breast cancer. However, after experimenting before the photo session, I decided to rely on my trusted friend, Photoshop. The artwork was added digitally during the retouching. This brought Sandra’s vision to life, crafting a stunning image that captures her warrior spirit and resilience.

In our creative space, Sandra felt free to express her essence fully. Through thoughtful planning and attention to detail, we transformed her ideas into breathtaking portraits that showcase her authenticity and beauty.

From our initial consultation through the session design call and up to her branding session, it's been an absolute joy getting to know Hannah's story and listening to her performing.

The primary goal of this session was to capture Hannah's glamour and undeniable presence authentically. She had numerous photoshoots in the past yet sensed that her photographs did not reveal her true personality or showcase her in the same way the audience perceived her.

During the wardrobe consultation and then the photoshoot, I immersed myself in Hannah's performances, connecting deeply with her music. Witnessing her passion firsthand, I saw how her music became an extension of herself. I could sense her deepest emotions that could not be reflected by any words. HOW DOES IT WORK?
First, you get in touch to let me know you're thinking about it.
We have a discovery call - because stepping in front of the camera is a vulnerable place. Many of my clients feel super nervous about that - so feeling reassured in the right photographer for you is important. There is no obligation to book however if we are the right fit, I process your booking and reserve dates for your photoshoot and wardrobe consultation.
Then everything falls into place from there.
I send you a bunch of preparation guides and schedule a video call to discuss outfits, ideas and any final preparations for your session. You are guided every step of the way.
You feel prepared leading up to the day of your photoshoot.
When you arrive at my studio, I and my professional Hair and makeup artist greet you We chat about how you want your hair styled, and your taste in makeup for your photos.
We go through what you've brought, ensuring your makeup goes perfectly with your wardrobe choice. Sometimes we make last-minute changes and that's OK.
Then, let the pampering commence. Bubbles (alcoholic or non) are offered. Chilled water. Yummy treats. Hair, makeup. Relaxation.
When it comes to photographing you, you do not need to know how to pose. I guide and coach you every step of the way.
Time flies by, and we capture some of the best photos you've ever seen of yourself. We go through all photographs immediately after the session. If you are on a tight schedule, we do it the day after. You narrow them down to those you love most and cannot live without. I hand-retouch your favourites and deliver them as fine art prints in luxurious folio box and corresponding digital files within 3 - 7 days from our appointment. If you choose wall art, the production and delivery is usually within 2 -3 weeks.

Debbie's initial brief on her branding photoshoot immediately showed me she is the kind of woman and entrepreneur who knows well what she wants, who her ideal client is and what is message she wishes to convey. We spent a lot of time on the initial consultation and the session design call to ensure we achieved Debbie's goals.

I have got to know her story and business quite well in the process and was pleasantly surprised to see many similarities in our stories and the path our lives are now taking.

Debbie is a highly specialised pilates instructor and a life coach working holistically with executives and professionals who want to live to their highest potential. She recently decided to uplevel her branding. Naturally, visuals are crucial for her revamped online presence, and consequently she invested in a photo session.

When asked why she chose me, she responded:
'Your site came across as different and having met you, you are so welcoming and open that I felt understood.'

She was very clear from the start she did not want to, I quote:
'sitting in a coffee shop smiling over coffee with a laptop & phone! I’m different. I want something different. I don't toe the line.'

As we got closer to the session, Debbie admitted she wanted to give a bo***ir a go, if only a little. I did not find it surprising as quite a few of my clients wanted to try more sensual photos at the end of their session, regardless of their initial purpose for the photoshoot. My advice is to bring whatever outfit or lingerie they like, see how the session goes and decide at the end if they are up for it. Most women are nervous about these photos, but as the day progresses, they gain more confidence and feel excited about doing something outside their comfort zone. It was no different with Debbie, and in the end we took some shots in her red lingerie - it has been on her bucket list for some time now.

Poppy has been gifted her bo***ir photoshoot with us as a birthday present from her partner. This gift wasn't a surprise as she had asked him for a session after seeing women of different ages and sizes in my portfolio looking stunning. She decided she wanted to be a part of it and have something to remind her she was beautiful.

Poppy said: 'I want to show power, sass and strength through sexiness but also a softer side that suggests vulnerability. I'm sensitive and emotional, which can make me shy and self-conscious. But somewhere inside, I feel this empowered and extroverted side of me that's just waiting for her time to shine. I can also be playful and silly, but not many people see that side of me, as I often come across as serious.'

We've come up with several looks that showed different sides of Poppy, including one that expressed her masculine energy. I loved exploring ideas during our styling consultation and having fun o the day of the session. We invited her partner for the image reveal to help us choose Poppy's favourites, however, he was not very helpful with narrowing down the photos as he loved way too many 🙂

Portrait session was something Alison had always wanted to do yet never gotten round to actually doing it. Until recently! It was now or never! As most of us, she had lots of phone pics, but wanted something special for herself and to be remembered by. This was going to be her visual legacy.
Vast majority of my clients had never had any portrait session prior to booking with me. Almost all of them warned me they hated their photos and they were definitely not photogenic. I love proving them wrong! It's true that some people are easier to photograph as they feel more relaxed in front of the camera, some even know how to pose themselves to look flattering and with a bit of practice and experimenting this can be learned by anyone.
From my experience, creating an atmosphere where
✔️you feel like the most important person in the world,
✔️you have a bit of pampering with hair & makeup to enhance your assets and minimise imperfections,
✔️you wear well fitted clothes that express who you are,
✔️you receive full posing guidance from toe to head (yes, we always start at the bottom!) which sadly is still not a standard for many photoshoots
✔️I talk to you throughout the whole photoshoot,
✔️I use appropriate lighting, lenses and shooting angles (and some other trickery).....will make a HELL OF A LOT OF DIFFERENCE.
You may think you are not photogenic, but most likely you were just not photographed properly by other people. I know what it's like when your friends or family take photos of you - they really won't give you any direction and just press the button 10 times hoping one of the photos will be OK. With phone camera they are also very limited and any closeups will result in unflattering distortions (i.e. big nose or forehead). Yes, you can use clever AI filters, but they distort people's features so much, they look almost inhuman and of course any skin texture is completely lost and flat too. It is certainly not the kind of image you would proudly hang in your home for everyone to see and admire.
