Sixth Form student Thomas wanted to take on a challenge to mark the end of his time here at NCW whilst also raising money for specific exercise and therapeutic equipment to enhance the experience at NCW.
Thomas and Pete (NCW School Therapist) set themselves the challenge of doing 24 hours of non stop exercise and needless to say they smashed it!

Meet Peter and Thomas...β
Pete is the school Therapist and Thomas is one of the Sixth Form students.
They have taken on the challenge of doing a 24hr exercise challenge. Yes you read correctly, 24hrs!
This will start at 7.30pm on Sunday 23rd June finishing at 7.30pm on Monday 24th June.
"We want to raise money to enable NCW to purchase specific exercise and therapeutic equipment to enhance the experience at NCW.
Throughout the 24hrs we will be doing over 40 different activities which will be very demanding both physically and mentally.
We have a real passion to try and raise as much as we can. Thomas says "Unfortunately I leave at the end of this term and I would like this event to leave a lasting legacy of my time at NCWβ

Mrs Williams (one of our amazing Braille teachers) has been getting crafty and making gorgeous fabric bookmarks.
In honour of World Book Day, staff here at NCW were able to buy them with donations going to the college and Guide Dogs UK
They all sold very quickly and Mrs Williams may have to make some more!

This Sunday, Bird and Amy will be taking the plunge for New College Worcester to raise funds to help blind and vision impaired students by completing a sponsored Sky Dive!
An exhilarating free-fall from 10,000ft at speeds of up to 120mph all in aid of charity.
Everyone at the college is dedicated to giving students nor only a wide range of educational opportunities, but equipping them with the independent living skill, confidence and self-esteem they will need.

You can help without really having to put your hand in your pocket by simply sorting out any old foreign notes and coins left over from holidays and business trips.

FARTHINGS TO OLD 50 PENCE,
OLD, OBSOLETE OR CURRENT CURRENCY
Literally anything that is or was once money can be collected.
Any old British or Irish coins and notes can also help. Even old decimal coins or farthings, 1d pennies, three pence, six pence, shillings and crowns are welcome.
So seek out those old Spanish Pesetas, American Dollars, German Marks etc, literally anything, even obsolete currency can help. Foreign coins and small banknotes cannot be exchanged at any British bank or Bureau de Change.
So please take a moment to donate these coins and banknotes and Cash4Coins will buy it all and turn it into a useful donation for New College Worcester.
There is a container in Reception waiting to receive your coins.
Please spread the word, with your help we know we can keep raising funds to support the education of our students.

Thanks to The Vinchel Foundation, two classrooms are being refurbished over the next two weeks. The builders are hard at work and already on day one, we can see great progress!

Over 7 days your eco-friendly balloon will battle against real-life weather conditions. You will be able to follow your balloonβs progress on Google Maps and see how far it goes!
Balloons will be Β£3 to purchase and once you have purchased your balloon, you can name it, decorate it and determine how much helium and the rubber thickness to what you think will win the race!
