Many thanks to Andrea Mallinson from the village for her kind donation. Also to all the others with donations and support. We originally started this project not really thinking about the costs involved but thinking with our hearts. We have called on companies such as Wickes, spinks, Ranskill hire, Rotherham sand and gravel , W Moore and son, D Skelton and son's, RGM Groundworks and many more, we have So much appreciated for the generosity and we wouldn't be this far ahead without them. So Basically the bottom line is we need funds to finish what we started or the project will be on hold until more funding can be found. So sad that all the spare time from volunteers can't continue without this. Please help if you can so we can finish what we started. Many thanks BBC π

An extremely positive meeting tonight with Blyth Parish Council, for allocation of funds from a local business for some very worthy causes, updates to follow as the self build project continues regardless π
Some of the weekend work done including new toilets base dug out and concreted, RSJ and steel posts fitted and concreted in place, old wooden floor removed and some of the rotten wooden posts replaced. Thank you for the massive help from the villagers. Even getting the younger generation involved. It's great to see what can be done when people get together π
That's the front removed ready for the RSJ to be put in place.
Many thanks to Tim Reaney from the village for donationing the ballast and sand. Much appreciated π
I would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Paul and Gill at The Red Hart for graciously allowing us to hold our Blyth Bowling Club committee meeting in your venue. I'm pleased to report that the meeting was a resounding success, marked by constructive discussions on advancing our project. I eagerly anticipate experiencing your wonderful hospitality at our future meetings, thank you.
Our plans for enhancing the communal area of our
club include
Renovating the Clubhouse: We are thrilled to announce plans for an extensive refurbishment of our clubhouse, aimed at creating a more
welcoming and functional space for social gatherings, events, and meetings. This comprehensive renovation project will encompass both the
exterior and interior of the building. Among the planned improvements are complete electrical and plumbing installations, the addition of a new
toilet facility attached to the building, establishment of a kitchen area, procurement of interior furniture, upgraded lighting fixtures, and
enhancements to ensure accessibility for all members.
Beautifying Outdoor Spaces: Our commitment to providing a serene and enjoyable environment extends beyond the clubhouse to our outdoor
areas. We are dedicated to enhancing the landscaping around our bowling greens, transforming them into a picturesque retreat for members of our community to unwind and appreciate nature. This endeavour will involve planting vibrant flowers, repurposing an existing toilet building into
a garden store, installing comfortable benches, and incorporating decorative elements to elevate the aesthetic appeal of our outdoor spaces.
Expanding Recreational Facilities: In line with our mission to cater to the diverse interests of our members, we are excited to broaden our range
of recreational offerings. In addition to bowling, we aspire to introduce various outdoor games, such as boules or croquet, to provide enjoyable
experiences for individuals of all ages. Furthermore, we recognize the importance of fostering a playful environment for children and families.
To this end, we plan to create dedicated spaces for children to play and host parties, ensuring that our club remains a vibrant hub of activity for
the entire community.
Some of the work carried out over the last 2 years.
