Over 2 years ago, on 27th March 2020, the first 3D printer was built to start making face shields for COVID in what would be PPE Hwb Wrecsam.

Within 2 weeks a team of volunteers was working 24x7 3D printing PPE at Ysgol Clywedog, before moving to Gresford Memorial Hall then our own factory in Llay where we produced injection moulded category 3 CE approved face shields.

For 2 years we have offered free PPE to all who requested it. For 2 Christmases we ran a "Maskmas" project to offer free face masks to the public from Wrexham Town Centre and Ty Pawb. Our visors were shipped all over the world.

Our work is now done and the PPE Hwb has closed its doors for the last time. Our final donation sees 17,000 units of PPE going to Ukraine this week.

250,000 units of PPE later, we thank you all for your amazing support. We look forward to refurbishing and distributing 3D printers to local schools to encourage a new generation of 3D printing enthusiasts with the hope that if the need ever arises in the future, there will always be those ready to respond.

On International Women's Day 2022, we celebrate that this has been supported by women all across the age range, from teenagers to retired, in roles from engineering to logistics to admin. Women have been central to our success which has included over 100,000 pieces of COVID protective technology of all kinds!

We're still sending them out for FREE (no matter where you live), you just need to ask!
