Our fourth wedding anniversary ❤️
Four years of specialness ❤️
Almost time...
My focus these days with weddings are to photograph smaller, intimate ceremonies. I cover North Wales and Cheshire.
If you plan on getting married later this year or the next, please do send me a message. If you're looking for natural photographs, timeless photos that are not filtered, with a style of reportage, colour and black and white please email me on [email protected] or give me a call 078377 88874

Do you prefer colour or black and white images?
I now provide colour and indeed black and white images at no extra charge. I personally love the sometimes evocation feeling with black and whites.

Trendy Lightroom/Photoshop Filters
I’ve discussed many, many times over the years to trainees especially, several reasons why I don’t use those filters that are trendy especially on Instagram.
Using and buying Lightroom presets can have both advantages and disadvantages. Here are some of them:
Advantages:
1. Time-Saving: Lightroom presets can help save time by quickly applying predefined adjustments to your photos. This can be especially useful when editing large batches of photos with similar characteristics.
2. Consistency: Using presets can help maintain a consistent look and feel across your photos or a specific project. Presets provide a set of predefined adjustments that can be applied uniformly, reducing the need for manual fine-tuning.
3. Learning Tool: Presets can serve as a valuable learning tool for those new to photo editing. By analyzing the adjustments applied in a preset, you can understand how different settings impact the overall look of a photo.
4. Customization: Most presets can be further adjusted to suit your specific needs. This allows you to tailor the preset to your desired outcome, giving you more flexibility and control over your editing process.
Disadvantages:
1. Generic Look: Since presets are created to work on a wide range of photos, they may produce a generic look that lacks uniqueness. This can be a downside for photographers looking to develop their signature style or create a one-of-a-kind look in their images.
2. Presets are purchased by many other photographers resulting in a look that is not unique but often in trend. Trends change after time and can and do look dated.
2. Limited Creativity: Relying heavily on presets may restrict your creative freedom. Presets provide a set of predefined adjustments, and while you can customize them to some extent, they may not always allow for the full expression of your unique vision.
3. Inconsistency: Presets that work well on some photos may not produce the desired results on others. This can lead to inconsistency in the editing process, requiring additional manual adjustments to achieve the desired outcome.
4. Cost: While there are many free presets available, premium and high-quality presets can be expensive. Purchasing presets can add extra costs to your editing workflow, especially if you require multiple presets for different types of photography.
5. Images of food, products, interiors, etc that depend on colour accurately would be ruined by the appliance of filters.
It's worth keeping in mind that presets should be used as a starting point for editing rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Experimentation, personalization, and manual adjustments are often needed to achieve the best results.
I do experiment with filters on my World Instagram page but as far as commercial photography is concerned, I aim for colour correct or as near to real life as possible.
Which do you prefer in the below image. The correct white balance or the filtered look?
Happy 2024🥂
It’s been a wonderful holiday period spent in Kent with family and friends and a breakaway away from social media 🥂

Another and final album completed and off to my lovely newlyweds ❤️
I was working near Gorsedd today, so I thought I would visit the church there before heading home.
I thought I would show you my latest Google review which was a lovely surprise.
Thank you.
Happy just to be ❤️
Autumn is later this year. It’s a weekend of woodland portraits ❤️
It really does hit home why I do photography especially during editing weddings. I smile when I see smiles, I cry when I see a tear, I do it all for the memories but in my way, my beautiful way.
A little bit on the sad side discovering the album company I've always ordered from has folded. Time to search for a replacement...
My final wedding of the year today ❤️
It’s the start of my autumn shoots today and I’m going to be using my favourite lens the 50mm f1.2 as I like to shoot at f1.2
What was your first camera?
Mine was a Polaroid OneStep600 camera which I received as a Christmas present in 1983, this camera remains not only a functional piece of nostalgia but also a testament to the enduring allure of analog photography.
In a world dominated by digital advancements, I find solace in holding onto this remarkable piece of technology. With its simplistic design and absence of complicated features, the focal point of my Polaroid lies solely in capturing moments that exceed the boundaries of perfect focus. Through its lens, I am transported to a realm where the magic lies not just in the resulting photograph, but in the journey that unfolds with each shot.
As I snap the shutter, clunking and clanking resonates from the camera, a reminder of the craftsmanship and mechanical ingenuity at play. Moments later, a tangible photograph emerges, seemingly defying the very laws of physics. The light-leaked imperfections, the subtle gradients of color, and the unique character that each image possesses are all irreplaceable hallmarks of this analogue medium.
Although I fully appreciate digital photography, there is an incomparable charm to be found in the various idiosyncrasies of analogue cameras. These devices are not just tools of creative expression but also vessels of sentiment, carrying within them the memories of bygone eras.
In a world that often prioritises instant gratification and the relentless pursuit of perfection, my Polaroid OneStep600 stands tall as a reminder that imperfections can be beautiful and should be embraced.
Thank you, mum and dad, for this gift and starting my photography addiction.
As a photographer, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in a world that combines artistry, technology, and creativity.
Along this journey, I couldn't help but notice a few habits among my fellow photographers that, while amusing, can sometimes be a bit annoying. So, join me as I indulge in a lighthearted exploration of these quirks in my latest blog post:-
