What does your training schedule look like?
- Are you making sure you get rest days and time in the fresh air ☀️🌳
- What about your sleep, nutrition and hydration 😴 💦
- Do you book in for regular massage to keep an eye on any issues that may be building? 💆♀️
- How about your stress levels? 🤯
It’s not just what you do in the gym that counts. What you do for the other 23 hours each day is just as important in helping you achieve your goals.
Maintaining a balanced approach to training and recovery will help you perform better and feel stronger and ready to go! 💪🏻🔥
Get in touch if you would like to find out more about how sports massage can help you with your recovery.
Find your “thing” ⬇️
I hated PE in high school, to the point where I’d forge sick notes just to get out of it, especially cross country running or hockey. So how did I end up doing two Spartan races in two days?! Even just a few years years ago this would’ve terrified me and I would never have even considered signing up to it. Mud? Cold water? No thank you. I could run a fair distance and was enjoying various gym classes but I had zero upper body strength and could never imagine being able to do the monkey bars or clamber over 6ft walls and climb ropes.
But then I found my thing. CrossFit. The workouts are tough yes, but varied, inclusive and fun, and I found that my strength and fitness improved massively, as did my confidence to try new things. Before I knew it, my friend and I started signing up to various events all over the country and we have had so many laughs and loads of fun along the way.
So even if fitness has never been your thing before, maybe it’s just that you haven’t found the right “thing” for you yet.
So my advice is just to try something, whatever it is. But if it is of interest to you and is fun, then you’re more likely to continue with it!
Do I need to be fit to start? That's the question that floats around our heads when we think about starting something new.
The answer is no, it helps, but.....
Getting you fit is what we do. It's what our coaches are trained to do, what our facility is designed to do and what our community will support you to do.
So don't worry about being fit enough to start, get in touch and book a free taster session and we'll show you what we do and how great you can be.

Level 1 Crossfit Coaching course booked 👍
CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course I am attending the CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course!
There’s not long left to sign up for this year’s Open which starts later this week.
If you are unfamiliar with the CrossFit Open, this is an annual worldwide competition available to athletes of all abilities to challenge themselves to 3 workouts over 3 weeks. Workouts are released on the Crossfit Games website on a Thursday and need to be completed and scores uploaded by the following Monday evening. At the end of each week, athletes can compare their scores with other athletes across the world on the leaderboard. For most, the Open ends after the 3 workouts but for those athletes scoring highest in their division, they can qualify for the next stages of the CrossFit Games!
This will be my first year entering and I do so with some trepidation. I’ve only been doing CrossFit for around 18 months, so still have much to learn. It is a sport that never seems to get any easier as there are always new movements or skills to learn or strength to gain, but I am hoping it will be a positive experience and will test some of my newly learned CrossFit skills.
I’ll pop the workouts and my scores on my story each week and if you’re also taking part, good luck and let me know how you get on! 💪🏻

Wonderful feedback from one of my regular clients proving that sports massage isn’t just for athletes.
Window cleaners, office workers, labourers, police officers, medical staff, teachers, gardeners, busy parents - we all get aches and pains that sometimes need more attention than just a soak in the bath☺️
6 days till Hyrox!! Start times have been announced today - we have an 8.40 am wave so I am very grateful that we booked a hotel for the night before ⏰🥱
Lessons learnt from last time:
1 - don’t get carried away in the merch area leaving only 5 mins for a warm up!
2 - don’t lose count on the laps. Seriously, I didn’t previously understand how counting to 3 could be so hard 🤦♀️
3 - Take a moment to look around and enjoy it. If it doesn’t go entirely to plan, so what 💁♀️ Enjoy the experience for what it is, learn from it and be proud of what you’ve achieved 💥
1h33 to beat. Can we do it??? We’ll give it a bloody good try 💪🏻
New signage to help you find me 🙌🏻
Thank you - looks fab!! 🖤

Client review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ever wondered how a sports massage differs from other types of massage 🤷♀️ A massage is a massage right?
✨In some ways that would be correct. Sports massage therapists do use many of the same strokes and techniques to warm up soft tissues and prepare the body for deeper more targeted work. However, we are then able to use more specific techniques to assess the body for muscle imbalances, help stretch and ease tight muscles, release trigger points, and help the body recover from workouts, repetitive movements or posture related problems.
✨Rather than working through a set routine, sports massage focuses on the areas that require work, and you might be surprised to find that this can often be in different places to where you are experiencing the pain or discomfort! For example, lower back pain can very often be as a result of tight glutes, hamstrings or hip flexors.
✨ The touch from any massage, whether Swedish, deep tissue, or sports, can help ease tension and calm the central nervous system which can in turn reduce pain and help with relaxation 🤗 But with sports massage, you may also be advised to do certain stretches or exercises to do in between your appointments to help even further.
If you are wondering if sports massage is right for you, get in touch 😊

Sports Massage and CrossFit - Forging Fitness in Norfolk Sports Massage and CrossFit. Our muscles are incredible. They allow us to complete the toughest of WODs, push ourselves to the limit and challenge our physical and mental abilities whenever we train or compete. This is all thanks to their amazing ability to recover, adapt and grow.
Training for Hyrox? See you there!! 😁
London Excel is only 11 weeks away and training can be tough from here until the big day.
Don’t let injury set you back - book in for your maintenance massages as part of your routine to help recover from the running, burpees and wall balls that you’ll be doing for the next few months. Your legs and shoulders will thank you for it and you’ll be ready to smash it at London Excel 💪🏻💪🏻
