Happy September everyone!! Now there's always a bit of debate whether September is autumn, but seeming as we are still going to have a couple of hot days this month, we have decided to prolong summer by keeping our lovely tropical seasonal special for a bit longer ☀️ 🌴🥥

Our October and November seasonal special is gonna be a good one 🎃🎃🎃

Our automatic doorbell is now working again, which is great as we do worry what customers hear when we don't know they're in reception. Some of the funny things people may overhear if they didn't know we were grooming dogs:

To the left we have Rosie A.K.A Rosie-Pup, Puppy or "RaRa" as Thomas calls her. She's our original Salon Dog and is my parents rescue dog. We picked her up from at 10 weeks old, and just shows dogs are definitely for life as she's now 11 years old 🥹

To the right is my baby girl, Ivy A.K.A Ives, Bubs or "I-E" by Thomas (usually followed by I-E OUT or I-E DOWN or I-E SIT! She ignores him though 😂) Ivy is out 5 year old Border Collie and loves an adventure but not too keen on the car journey to the adventure 😆 she's also a terrible Salon Dog as she barks too much in the salon as she's very noise sensitive!

A bath in our special deshedding shampoos made to help with those extra heavy shedding seasons. This will help shedding reduce for longer periods of time and we will spend extra time with brushing

Finally back into the swing of things after a lovely week away from work, with my crazy family. Can't believe in 30 now - I started this business when I was 19 😱😱😱

Thomas loved spending every day in the pool! And all the ice-cream (maybe his grandparents spoiled him a little??)

CHRISTMAS ALERT!

I know... We don't normally start reminding customers about booking for Christmas until normally August, but with the weather being so hot and only being a band of two this year, we are fully booked for full grooms til the end of July now.

If you are on a regular 6-8 week schedule, we would suggest booking a couple of grooms at a time or up to the end of the year so you don't miss your Christmas space. Please give us a should if you'd like to block book 🐾

Open day dog show today! Our 6th anniversary here at Centre Paws! We will be open today offering walk in nail trimming, meet the staff (and baby 😂) as well as offering brushing and grooming advice - we also have Aircon 😉

We've also spotted an icecream van on the main field 😆

Sorry we've been a little quiet! We have just come back from a lovely time in Yorkshire. We've walked miles and miles, seen lots of sheep and tried getting a little relaxing in too haha!

Weekly debrief -

This week has been all about the pairs of dogs. We've had
- 3 x pair of cocker spaniels
- A pair of chihuahuas
- a pair of labradors
- a pair of doodles
And sadly I forgot to take pictures of any pairs! Actually, we didn't even remember to take photos using our photo sofa this week, it's been busy!

I have started my new grooming course this week, so that's going to be fun! I went to the theatre this week to see Jesus Christ Superstar and a nice dinner before, that was good!

We also tried a new private hire swimming pool, which I would definitely recommend, Weston Leisure in Weston longville - it was very warm and the showers and changing area is great!

We also went to a farm, Thomas loved the chickens! And we also took Ivy for a nice walk around UEA and Eaton park today too

Lots of family time this week, making up for our busy working bank holiday 😆

Weekly debrief!

This week we've had great fun with the new neon sign, looks super posh and feel like we should be offering prosecco while they wait 😂 just need to keep the plants alive 😬

We had some rabbits in for nails, Thomas was amazed by these fluffy things that definitely weren't dogs 😆

We also had some massive breeds in, a Newfoundland and an American Akita - beautiful dogs!

Over the weekend, Thomas went to the park for the first time, loved the swings and the slide. Definitely a thrill seeker, which is funny because he cries when he gets dirt or a bit of grass on his hands 😂 and had a roast dinner with my parents and breakfast out with some friends, very social baby!

This week we have a lot of our free teeth checks to sign off for our teeth cleaning service. Our first consultation day is on the 20th April - so please let us know if you want to book your dog in for their first session and consultation which is £45 🪥

Weekly debrief!

What a week! It was only a four day working week but we've been busier than ever!

Most of our haircuts have been short all off jobs, mainly because the sun is finally coming! Hurray!!

We have spent the whole 4 day Easter weekend revamping the business. I've spent a lot of time on the computer (absolutely hate technology, I'll stick to dogs haha!) and David has been painting and decorating. Thomas however, had a great time at the zoo with his grandparents to keep him occupied away from the paint 😂

We did have a small break for my brother's birthday - we went to the wallow in Norwich, anyone else taken a baby to a wine bar? No? Their food boards are really tasty but Tommy only had bread!

We also had a nice Easter meal around my nans and Thomas had a great time playing with his cousins!

Now April is here, finally we can start offering the emmipet ultrasonic cleaning and our new spa services! Check out the website for more details 🐾 💆

Big thanks to who kept me, David and Thomas fed with cakes, bacon sandwiches and even a ham sandwich for Thomas, they had a crazy busy weekend too by the sounds of it!

Weekly debrief!

This week was all about the Border Terriers. Out of our 40 dogs this week, we had 7 border terrier/BT crosses in, our usual is 1 a week maybe! We've had baby ones, ones who are 16 years young, clips, hand strips and even one with a Mohawk!

Our Ivy Pup turned 5 on Tuesday, we celebrated with a trip to Sea Palling - she loves the beach so much, but hasn't gone since before Thomas was born! Unfortunately, she's gone back to her old habit of no recall in water, resulting in me walking into the sea in my trainers and jeans to go get her 😂 at least it wasn't too cold!

This week, we have our emmipet teeth cleaning course on Thursday, planning our big redecoration and sprucing up the website! We will be closed over the bank holiday 🐣

The countdown is on!

From April, we are having a revamp of the business, starting with our reception, a nice lick of paint, colour scheme change and a chalkboard with our new services, and our website and online booking system will be much easier to use.

We are also set up for a course for our NEW teeth cleaning services! This is an ultrasonic cleaner that removes tartar build up and bacteria. More details to come.

And lastly, we are creating some more luxury spa packages along with one off add one, to help with deshedding, itchy dogs and just a good pamper for dogs who deserve a little more luxury 😆

Weekly debrief!

What a lovely week it's been! Most of our clients this week have been our original clients from the old salon in town, it's so lovely that they still come to us but also sad noticing a little more Grey's here and there. And realising they're 10-15 years old now, but that's what happens when you've been grooming for over 10 years!

Thomas turned 1! Scary how quick this year has gone from having the smallest little newborn to this cheeky boy crawling circles around us 😂 thank you all for the birthday wishes, cards and presents - you're the best!!

We took him to the aquarium for the day, but sadly he got sick and has been pretty ill for the last few days - we will be calling the docs tomorrow as he's still got a high temperature so please bare with us

This weekend, we started our veggie patch for Tommy's carrots (he loves his carrots!) and had a Chinese meal with family 😋

We are fully booked for full grooms this week but may be able to squeeze in some express washes or bath and tidied depending on the breeds, so give us a shout!

And we've also worked out how we would like the salon to look for our revamp coming soon (with our new spa packages on the way too!) coming April 🌷

Weekly debrief - ft. Our new services!

What a fab week it has been! Its been all about the collies this week, in three days we had three collies in for their grooms, and then ALL the collie love at Crufts too 😆 you all know they're my faaaavourite breed 🥰

Work was very busy being the start of the month and also having two days off for Crufts. Also, now Thomas knows how to pull himself up, he's been so funny at work - no napping when I can play instead 😆 but that's what happens when you're a family run salon who brings their baby in to work every day 😆

Crufts was immense. It was so much fun with a baby as you got to see everything in a whole different light. Stickers are the BEST thing ever apparently. So we collected a lot for him! I fan girled over Victoria Stillwell, too scared to go say hi 😅 and got to have a chat with Colin Taylor - fab groomer and lovely man!

We've also got so much shopping and new services coming soon - watch this space for our ultrasonic teeth cleaning, new spa treatments and hopefully a full revamp of the salon too! So excited 😭 to have the full spa experience for all of our customers - we call ourselves a spa for a reason!

This weekend we have had a lovely time staying with family, as well as an escape game for my dad's birthday and then a perfect mother's day of a long dog walk with my first born hairy baby and then a roast dinner for my non hairy baby 😂

Weekly debrief!

This week we have had so many chihuahuas in, and lots of handstripped dogs too. Loads of puppy's first baths, which is always fun 🥰

We had our first date night in what feels like ages, and Thomas decided to crawl for the first time just before we went out! So glad we didn't miss it but we did joke he would when parents were baby sitting 😂

We visited another groomer friend that I haven't seen in ages, it's so nice being in a business where you can network and bounce ideas off each other or offer a hand!

We had a lovely walk around Blickling Hall today and looking forward to spending the rest of the day prepping this week for our Crufts trip this week 😁 or Cruftsmas as us groomers call it 🛍️ 🎁

This week, we are fully booked for full grooms but we do have spaces for express washes or spa treatments 🐾

Next week, we will be having Thursday and Friday off for Crufts 🐕

The week after, we have Wednesday and Thursday off to celebrate Thomas' first birthday 🥹🥹🥹
