👋 Hey 🦋 I'm back from my Yoga Retreat 🧘♀️ at the beautiful @thehaciendaretreat. I'm rested, energised, reflective and full of gratitude ... especially to Wendy @myyogajourney. Wendy gives so much love and thought to all her classes sharing philosophy and wisdom...I feel reconnected with my yoga journey. Self-care seems a cliche expression. People always say I hope your making time for your self ... I would also give a nonchalant 'yeah, yeah'. I've never thought I deserve to or had time to ... but actually I've noticed the huge benefit ... I feel lighter, brighter...not fully healed .... but as though I have recharged my tools to help me. My crystals also made their way to Andlusia for meditation and chakra balancing. So, take care of yourselves people... do what ever you need to recharge, reenergise and lift you. Hey, I'm half way through my Yoga retreat in the beautiful hills of Andlusia. Deciding to come was a very last minute decision. I could think of a million reasons why I should not... Of course I am missing my boys and Nigel enormously. ... The hardest part about loosing a child is living your life after. It does seem insane that I have left my family at home and travelled to Spain to a Yoga retreat on my own. After the initial shock and realisation that I had done it... I am here and I'm ok, I have settled in. Over the last year I have mastered keeping busy and finding distractions so that I don't have too much time on my hands and avoiding uncomfortable silence or unwelcome feelings and emotions. This week I have learnt to embrace long periods of stillness and quiet. I have been unable to keep busy and I have had lots of time to sit with my thoughts and emotions whether they be uncomfortable or not. Dont get me wrong I mediate, use breath work and Yoga all the time time at home. But this is packed in around running a market stall, running a charity, running a home and whatever else I can pack into my day. A retreat is very different. I have indulged and dedicated time to what makes my heart sing. I have put me first... and that's OK! I have so much gratitude and love for Nige and the boys for allowing me this time. I've pushed all my comfort zones physically and emotionally ... I've met new people ( I am one of the most socially awkward and shy people) ... I've learnt new things. I'm still desperately hurting... but there are positive things for me to be grateful for and to enjoy if I let myself. I trust that I will find magic and adventure in my new life and realise that I will always have grief as my uninvited companion.
