Not much sunshine today, so we've found a photo from a brighter day.

This is the sun shining through an Undercroft window casting shadows onto the floor.

Beer festival? What beer festival?

Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who turned the Hall from a beer Hall back to a medieval one!

Our massive thanks also go out to our sponsors, supporters, breweries and to everyone who attended.

Cheers! 🍻

Despite being in the centre of a busy and bustling city, the Hall’s garden still offers quiet spots away from the crowds.

It provides an opportunity to stop, sit back and literally smell the roses. 🌹

24/06/2024

Good morning from a sunny Merchant Adventurers’ Hall! ☀️

19/06/2024

The weather forecast is showing no rain for 7 days. Yes you heard correctly.

Get the sun cream out.
Dig out the barbecue.
Stock up on ice lollies.

SUMMER IS HERE! 🌞

17/06/2024

We're manifesting some warm and sunny weather for this week by sharing this summery photo of the Hall. 🤞

A view from every window!

This is a view from the Governor's Parlour in the newest extension at the Hall. It was built in 1947.

The second oldest extension which you can see is Tudor and was built in 1601.

The oldest? The Chapel which was built in 1411! 🤯

10/06/2024

Let's just say it. It's cold.

So in a bid to warm up proceedings: here's a photo of the Hall on a sunnier and warmer day.

You can almost feel the sunshine. 🌞

07/06/2024

Congratulations you've made it to the weekend.

Here's a photo of the Hall (and the only original 14th century window still being used as a window) as a prize!

We are open tomorrow from 10.00am to 1.00pm and on Sunday from 10.00am to 4.30pm (last admission 4.00pm).

Look! We’re a beer! 🍻

🍻 NEW ON CASK | MERCHANT 🍻
The Merchant Adventurers' Hall is a medieval guildhall in the city of York. Inspired by this magnificent landmark, Merchant is an extra pale ale that’s super refreshing with subtle notes of grapefruit and pineapple.

Available for a limited time on cask 🍻

Where's this? London? Florence? Somewhere equally amazing with a stupendous bridge?

You'd be right, it's York and this is Old Ouse Bridge seen in three different artworks from the 18th and 19th centuries.

The author Daniel Defoe described it as 'the greatest in England.'

03/06/2024

Another week, another marvellous view of the Hall.

We're trying to find a bad one but it's just not possible. 😉

31/05/2024

The perfect way to ‘illuminate’ your weekend!

The Hall is open on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4:30pm (last admission 4pm). So why not come down and visit!

What a lightbulb moment that is! 💡

Dum dum de dum. Dum dum de dum!

Yes it's a wedding day at the Hall so we are closed today.

We are open as normal tomorrow from 10.00am to 1.00pm and then over the long weekend from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Just in case you hadn't noticed - it's raining. ☔️

Therefore it is a day to explore inside and what an inside we have!

There's history and marvellous views around every corner.

20/05/2024

The first roses are in bloom in the garden. How about that for some Monday motivation?! 🌹

17/05/2024

With 50 days to go we're looking back to the arrival of a cask or two at the Hall. We'd better crack on with our weight lifting training in preparation 💪
