Discover Javanese culture through dance!
In this introductory workshop to Javanese dance, you’ll explore basic movements and learn a short sequence of the dance Gambyong Pankgur to live gamelan music.
Become musically aware of the tunes of Gamelan, and get a taste of how people in Central Java dance.
Javanese dance is practised and performed bare feet, but non-slip socks are acceptable to be worn.
Wear comfortable clothes and bring a bottle of water.
Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary. Minors must be accompanied by a parent.
You are never too old to experience something new!

At last! We're finally able to get this gamelan back on the road again! Having a lovely week at Burton Pidsea Primary School - lovely staff and pupils and a very warm welcome as part of their Indonesia week.
