We have another MASSIVE outside catering job this Saturday the 13th July, that we need ready for early arvo.
So, regrettably we will have to close all day on Saturday.

John, the owner of Sunny’s has come off all forms of social media. He’s had a realisation that he spends far too much time on his phone when he should be focusing on spending time with his family when he’s not at work. So, he’s got himself a Nokia 3210. The team at Sunny’s, led by Jackie will post bits and bobs on here but if you want to speak to John then please just leave a message at the caff and it’ll get passed on. WE ARE HIRING
Part time position available at the end of March/early April. Approx 20-25 hours.
Must be available weekends.
Looking for a hard worker who can prioritise and work off their own initiative during busy times - we can get very busy!
Duties will include but not be limited to serving customers, handling food, clearing tables, washing pots, cooking, cleaning, making hot drinks.
We're a small, hard working, friendly team. Ideally you will have experience but training can be provided to the right candidate.

Its time to start smartening up Sunny’s a bit I feel.
Looking for someone to clad over the back wall to hide all the conduit, leaving the sockets free though obviously, so I can then blackboard paint over it and get all the menu written up on the one wall.
Also looking for someone to put stainless steel on the counter top.
It’s just a light shower!

Our Story
The Angels Share began in early 2016 when 2 friends, John and Stephen, bought a horse trailer in Great Yarmouth. With no means of getting the horse trailer from Great Yarmouth to Newton Upon Derwent, not for the first time, Johns folks would be called upon to help.
From there it took a couple of months to turn the horse trailer into something that resembled a bar, the dream being we would be up and down the country every weekend working at festivals, weddings etc etc. The reality was that at the same time as this John had just become a father and Stephen had just started a new ‘proper job’. So, the trailer became something we would do around our full time jobs for a bit of fun. Then, in 2018 the opportunity arose to run all the bar concessions for the Great Yorkshire Fringe Festival in York. By this time Stephen had left the business and had been replaced by Daniel, Johns brother. The Fringe was a big deal, running the bars for an 11 day festival in the middle of York! Surely this was the big break we needed, after which everything would fall into place, the bars (we now had 2) would be seen by thousands of people and bookings would go through the roof. Nope, not quite!
In early 2019 I (John) began to realise that this was never going to become a full time concern. I couldn't leave my full time job to try and build the business and risk losing an income, at the same time I wanted to spend time with my family so I decided to start looking for a place in York to turn into a small bar/bottle shop. Then, new words like ‘rent’ and ‘rates’ came into the equation and it quickly became obvious that this wasn't going to work either.
A chance encounter with an old friend in Wilberfoss Post Office and a conversation which ended with ‘the club might be looking for someone new’ has seen the team behind The Angels Share (now a three man team with the addition of Micky Carrigan) take over the bar and kitchen at Wilberfoss Pavilion. This means I am following in the footsteps of my Grandad, George Mitchell, who 50 years ago next year was one of the people responsible for the club being there in the first place.
Our aim is to turn the club into a real community focal point, to provide a welcoming atmosphere to all and to serve great food and drink.
We will be open Wednesday - Thursday 3-10, Friday 3-11, Saturday 12-11 and Sunday 12-9, with food being served from opening until 9 each night, except on Sunday when the kitchen will close at 8.
If anyone in the community wants to use any of the space for any reason then we are always available to discuss your requirements.
