Tea on the Green

Tis a lovely day to pop down to the green, sit in the sunshine and have a hearty breakfast or a lovely lunch. Open til 3pm today.
Our phone line is still not working, our apologies. BT are coming next Thursday to fix the problem. 😯

We are having problems with our telephone. It's ringing when you call but not ringing in the tea room. BT think we have a phone line issue but it could take a few days to sort out. We are so very very sorry for the inconvenience. Team TOTG 🙄

Lovely sunny morning. Coffee machine is on and Jane is wafting scone smells all over the green. Our scone perfections are freshly baked every morning. Wonder what is coming out of the oven today 😂

Another busy week here on The Green. Lovely ladies enjoying our signature Tea on the Green lunch. Lots of Afternoon Teas and catering for a Bereavement Tea for a lovely lady at Acomb Parish Hall. Next week it's wedding season and we're on tour Saturday and Sunday saying "I do" on both days. Have a lovely weekend everyone ❤️

Our little Tea Room has been working it's magic for over 25 years. In the last 6 years the girls and I have spread our sparkle to provide tasty food, good service and a smile to all our wonderful customers. Without you, we are nothing. So, thank you to all of you who support us, who come in rain or shine and who never let us down. We're here for the long haul serving excellent quality food in a relaxed environment. Pop in and see us because our scones are just the best (singing our own praises lol) 😂😂

Most of you know that our sister company is The Bishopthorpe Deli on Acaster Lane. We've taken the plunge and have set up JUST EAT at the deli so you can have your breakfast, lunch or afternoon delights delivered to your door. Very exciting. Pop along to the app and see what you fancy for lunch 😁

Our little emporium is looking for a new member of staff to help over the summer holidays. The successful applicant must be over 16 years of age and be willing to work weekends, hopefully staying with us after the holidays as saturday staff. The role involves taking orders, making barista coffee (full training will be given) clearing tables, washing up etc. We are looking for an enthusiastic bubbly individual with lots of get up and go. Good Morning. We are open 9am today serving breakfasts, lunches. We have easter treat cupcake boxes, cake and brownie boxes to take away. All freshly made at our new bakery.
Open Saturday too but closed Easter Monday.

We were out and about yesterday all across York serving guests with lunches and Afternoon Teas. Met some lovely people too.
Next week is Easter and we will be open good friday with lots of easter treats. Boxes of cupcakes, mini egg brownies, creme egg brownies & flapjacks. Super cute easter biscuits made by our own little baker from our new Bakery. These will be available friday and Saturday 🐥🐤

Our lovely Judith battled through with a broken toe yesterday but her foot was the size of a watermelon last night!!! So unfortunately we are closed today. We will be open tomorrow at 9am. Kim manning the kitchen, Charlotte and Julia on coffee and cake and we are delighted to be welcoming Jane to our fold the week after next. Hopefully that should sort out our staff issues. Thank you so much for your understanding 😁

Do you fancy working in a popular tea room. We are looking for a bubbly individual to look after our fabulous customers. Making them welcome, making drinks, serving food, clearing away and washing up. Keeping the tea room tidy.
We have two positions available - 16 hours each working in conjunction with each other covering tues to sat (two saturdays a month) £10.50 per hour.
Either full days or lunchtime shifts 11am to 3.30pm.

We are all back to normal here on the green. Coffee machine is on and Julia is frothing the milk for the cappuccino whilst Judith is cooking up a storm in the kitchen. It may be still chilly outside but a warm welcome awaits you ❤️
