Let’s get more girls into sport 💪

Since 1998, we’ve been on a mission to empower women through fitness and beyond. And that starts with girls.

According to , one of the main barriers girls face when participating in sport is their period, with pain, fear of leaks and feeling self-conscious all contributing to 1.3 million teenagers dropping physical activity.

But the Foundation is on a mission to change that, with their aim to empower women and girls from every background to get active, and stay active, for life.

Their latest initiative? New Period Workshops in schools across the UK, designed to combat the stigma around periods, fill the knowledge gap and help girls feel more confident exercising on their period. They’ll cover:

👏 The menstrual cycle and its stages – what’s normal and what’s not
👏 How physical activity can benefit the menstrual cycle
👏 Managing physical symptoms and cultivating healthy habits
👏 Breaking down barriers, myths and misconceptions
👏 Practising self-care and embracing body positivity
👏 Encouraging a supportive and inclusive environment for girls in sports and physical activity
