Following yesterdays (Wednesday 28 August) notice that due to technical issues our Main Pool is capped to 25 swimmers, we are happy to announce that our Main Pool is back open to regular capacity.

York Sport Village Roadworks Notice

We have been made aware of plans by the University of York to undertake investigatory road works over the coming weeks.

From Monday 2 September through to Friday 13 September, partial road closures (one side only) will be in place along sections of Lakeside Way, Kimberlow Lane and Goodricke Way.
Temporary traffic lights will be used during these works, which may add some time to your journey.

We therefore please advise our customers to consider giving yourself some extra time when traveling to us for your activity.

Field Lane temporary road closure

From 20 August, Field Lane - from Sussex Road to the junction of Church Lane will be temporarily closed due to York Council carrying out roadwork improvements.

The works are expected to be completed by Friday 30 August and will take place between 9.30am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

The 2024 York Triathlon & York Kids Triathlon are returning to York Sport Village for the 11th year in a row!

Please be advised that our main pool & cycle circuit will be unavailable on Saturday 17 August and Sunday 18 August due to these events.

Our swimming lessons are running as normal on Saturday 17 August.

The gym and fitness classes will be running as normal on Saturday 17 August, but there will be no fitness classes on Sunday 18 August.

Our York Sport Village Gym will be open as normal on both Saturday 17 August and Sunday 18 August.

Please also allow plenty of time for your journey as we anticipate that it will be busier than usual on site.

York Sport Centre Closure Saturday 17 August

Due to ensuring essential facility maintenance is carried out, our York Sport Centre will be closed on Saturday 17 August.

All Sport Centre members will have full gym access to York Sport Village on Saturday 17 August. Just speak to a member of our York Sport Village reception team on arrival and they will give you a member access band.

We will resume opening hours as normal on Sunday 18 August.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

HUGE congratulations to the women's quad sculls team for winning gold at the Paris Olympics! Especially Georgie Brayshaw, who we were lucky enough to have in York as part of the GB Start Programme. During her time here Georgie trained with University of York students at our very own York Sport Centre (!!) and spent a lot of time with our very own Boat Club. University Of York Boat Club

Main Pool closed due to Pool Plant mechanical failure. The Small Pool is currently open as per the timetable.

All Swim Lessons for stages 4, 5, 6, 7 and Development Squads in the Main Pool before 5pm will be cancelled for today. Lessons in the Small Pool will be on as normal, and stage 3 lessons before 5pm will also be in the Small Pool.

All those affected will be contacted. We are working with contractors to fix the issue with the Main Pool and will update further in due course.

The new equipment includes; 16 treadmills, 12 adjustable benches, 6 upright bikes, climbers, cages, Skillups and MORE.

Throughout the last week Technogym, alongside the assistance of our York Sport team, have been helping to install your brand new York Sport Gym! 😍💙

This process has involved the removal of all fitness equipment, followed by the redecoration of the gym and installation of the new equipment. Even our Fitness Instructor Karl is getting stuck in!! 💪

We've still got a long way to go before we relaunch our newly refurbished gym to you next week but we can't wait for you to see what we have got in store!

York Sport Village Facilities Update

During previous communications on our website and on our social media channels we announced that our Members Changing Rooms will be unavailable to members during a period of time to allow the safe removal of the fitness equipment during our gym refurbishment.

Due to the process of installing the new fitness equipment during our refurbishment safely, our Member Changing Rooms will also be unavailable during the following dates/times this week:

Monday 22 July – 6am to 5pm
Tuesday 23 July – 6am to 5pm
Wednesday 24 July – 6am to 5pm
Thursday 25 July – 6am to 5pm
Friday 26 July – 6am to 5pm

Members attending to use the swimming pools and health suite during these times will be able to use the Wetside Changing Village instead. Lockers are available and will require a £1 coin to operate.

For members wishing to use changing facilities or lockers whilst attending Group Exercise classes, our outdoor corridor change facilities will be open and available to use. Again, lockers are £1 coin operated.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding throughout these developments. We can't wait to welcome you to your new gym soon!
