Yesterday I went to Manchester for Vaudeville Labs, taking workshops with and and a chat with . Managed to fit in fabric shopping, flying visit to Unpicking Couture and paid respects to this statue of Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Phew!

Tomorrow I get to see one of my biggest makes ever hit the stage as debuts her new act and I can’t wait!

About a month ago, I had my first mammogram. They called me back for further checks. After a biopsy, there’s no problems to worry about. Waiting for the results has been the longest week and a half I’ve experienced for many years 😬, and I’m grateful to not need treatment but relieved to see the system working well. 50% of the women in the last 2 generations of my family died as a result of breast cancer, so I feel justified in being wary, but I also know several friends living full happy lives having been treated successfully. More random things I’ve made lately: I was very excited to be asked to recreate a knitted men’s swimsuit from the 1930s and I’m very pleased with how it looks! It’s off to a very dapper gentleman down south and I’m sure it will be a sensation 😉
