Parent and Child Groups NEW SPACES NOW AVAILABLE FOR SEP 2024! Welcome to all parents - and grandparents - at our magical Parent and Child groups where children up to 3½ years...

We've only just got our breath back from this year's epic Waldorf One World (WOW) sponsored bike ride where well over 100 miles of cycling from every child from Class 2 to Class 9 will produce several hundred pounds for schoolchildren from some of the most impoverished areas across the world.
There was such joy in setting off into beautiful autumn sunshine with excited chattering children relishing the freedom and independence cycling gives them - and we are, as always, so grateful to our army of parents who came along as ride guides and supporters. It was especially touching to see our Class 9s ride alongside the younger years, encouraging them every pedal of the way! York Cycle Campaign

Here's a message from our lovely Sally Ryan who is helping to extend our wonderful alumni community: As part of our Upper School celebrations we would love to hear from our past pupils. We are always delighted to hear news of what you’ve been doing since you left - you have so many varied careers and experiences. Now as we enter this exciting new phase of our school history it would be great if our ex-pupils could offer the Upper School students their support with projects, mentoring or perhaps give a careers talk. Alternatively, you could offer a work experience opportunity to a student.

Michaelmas is a festival of community celebrated by Waldorf schools all around the world because St Michael's story is full of hope and courage and helps us remember that when we unite together, we can face anything! The whole school feasted on home made soup (thank you Class 3!) and traditional Dragon bread while mountains of food donations are making their way to local food banks today. We have the most wonderful news to share about one of our teachers. Apple Kindergarten's Lizzy Metcalfe has won the New Talent Children’s Publishing Category of the World Illustration Awards with her beautiful artwork...and a special chap called Mr Crisps.

A fabulous Sports Day and lovely to see our oldest (and coolest) students from the new Class 9 throwing themselves into the fun and having a fantastic time - while still finding time to help out with the younger classes. Thanks so much to the army of parents and staff who set up the show!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Michael Hall Alumni Mathilda Hodgkins Byrne on winning a BRONZE medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for her incredible women’s double sculls race!

Our children may have left for the holidays but it's anything but quiet here at school - with teams of builders and our lovely parents hammering, cleaning, tidying and painting for Work Week. Exciting new playground equipment is already in while the Class 9 (you read that right!) rooms are being plastered as we speak. All the classrooms are being spruced up and the carpet cleaner is in full swing!
The children are going to get a big surprise in September...
