Why do cats spray? 🤔🐱
Male and female can spray whether neutered or not. Spraying can be a normal behaviour but can also be a and anxiety. Some reasons for spraying can include normal territory-marking behaviour, attracting a mate during mating season, stress due to environment changes, addition of new cats in the home, or feeling threatened. 🐈
If you have any concerns about your cat spraying then contact our helpline at [email protected] 📧
Why do cats knead? 🤔
knead their owners with their claws for various reasons, and this behaviour is often associated with feelings of comfort, security, and contentment. It begins in hood when their mother’s belly to stimulate milk flow when nursing. 🐱
Why are cats obligate carnivores?🤔
are obligate carnivores and have specific nutritional needs that are met by consuming meat. They require certain nutrients such as Taurine, Arachidonic acid and Arginine only found in animal tissues and may be absent or deficient in . 🐱
If you would like further information about your cats dietary needs then please call our helpline on 0800 195 8000. 🐾
Why do cats scratch?🤔
generally scratch for 3 different reasons. They scratch with their claws by dragging them downward, either on a horizontal or vertical surface. 🐱
1) This helps to loosen and remove the outer husk of the claw revealing a sharp new surface underneath.🐾
2) Scratching also helps to exercise their muscles of the forelimbs and spine keeping the cat in good condition.🐾
3) Scratching is also used a form of marking or territorial communication. The scent and sweat glands in between the pads of the feet mix to produce a unique smell.🐾
When claws are scraped down a surface, the scent is deposited and the combination of the mark, discarded claw husks and the smell provides a strong visual and scent message to other cats.🐈
See our blog for further information⬇

Why do cats lick humans?🤔
lick themselves and others for various reasons, and it's a natural behaviour that serves several purposes. When a cat licks you or another cat this can be a sign of trust or affection. They can also lick to control body temperature, to soothe painful areas, to reduce stress, to seek attention or for taste and exploration. 🐱
While licking is generally a normal and healthy behaviour, excessive licking, especially in one area, could be a sign of an underlying issue such as an allergy, skin problems, or pain. If you notice any changes in your cat's grooming habits or behaviour, contact your veterinary practice for further advice.🐾

Cuteness overload! 🤩
Those names are just adorable 🥹
Dogs Trust
is often described as ‘the teenage phase’, because the behaviour changes we see in dogs can be very similar to those we see in adolescent humans. You may hear people describe their as being rebellious, but they really aren’t planning a takeover, they are just dealing with the challenges of canine puberty!🐶

Nala the wears her Easidri Cooling Coat to help her keep cool during hot weather 🥵🐶
Comment below pictures of your pets keeping cool 😎⬇️
Dogs don’t tolerate as well as humans do. Unlike us, dogs typically rely on panting to keep themselves cool and panting is the most important way in which a dog regulates its temperature. 🥵
However, because they only have sweat glands in their feet and around their nose, they are less efficient than we are at cooling themselves down.🐶
