Just clearing the air, summercrew as a mas band officially retired in 2019 after 30 years of amazing times on the road, as the founder I am extremely proud of all the people that were part of that journey no matter what capacity or role they played. Looking back now I think to see where we started and with the dreams we all shared it is just amazing to see how far we have helped to bring our carnival.
Even the haters of what we strived to achieve would be hard pressed to say we did not play our role
History will decide for itself, but in the end I lived and loved and feel very proud to see so many Grenadians now championing the cause to continue pushing our carnival forward. I might not agree with some aspects but rest assured those before me didn't agree with mine, but what is important is for all of the new leaders to follow their own paths and to know inside at the end of the day as Grenadians we should all want the festival to continue to grow
Last year while I was out in Dubai helping to market our country I was contacted and informed in Feb that the government will only allow bands up to 100 members to be on the streets, understanding the costs involved to produce a band a few members decided that we should do a band as we felt most would not come out and we did not want there to be no product. In that light we made the decision to support smc on their call.

After that decision was made a couple months later when things were already in motion for the limited production the decision was made by SMC to have a full open carnival

We were not in a position to adapt at that stage so we marketed produced and had a great time with our limited product and we also were able to witness mas is in very safe hands in Grenada right now

To all the amazing bands coming out this year we wish you the absolute best.

If there is one piece of advise I would leave with everyone is the success in life doesn't come from the money you made ( even though money helps lol) but to me the real success comes from the moments you lived and the people who you shared those moments with, I for one have always. Believed that masqueraders all are part of a special family it does not matter which band you choose to play with
