UPDATE - WE’RE BACK ON!

💡 🕯️ We are currently in darkness in the area with a power cut… We are unsure how long this will continue for but we will update you when the power is back and we’re back up and running. 🕯️ 💡

We have decided to reopen a day later in the new year.
A few of our girls went home for Christmas and it just gives them a day to let their feet touch the ground before we get back behind the counter!

Hi all… Andy here.
I just wanted to get a post out to keep you all in the loop on our plans for the next 10 days.
Kim and I had a holiday booked that up until a few days ago I didn’t think I’d be able to join. Torn between a rock and a hard place and I feel there needs to be a little transparency with the current situation.

As you will have noticed we’ve tweaked our opening hours a few times as we are short staffed, 2 months ago we lost 3 of our 6 month contract girls who went home when their contacts came to an end. We had 3 people waiting to come over to replace the girls we had lost and bring our team back up to a full team… the new rule changes the states brought in regarding licenses mean we are STILL 3 staff down. The licenses are now 15 weeks in arrears due to these rules coming into law. These licenses can be refused as they now require a minimum of 2 years reference to show they have enough experience to come and do the job. These can be refused and they cost the business as they are non refundable. We are also paying hundreds of pounds a week to hold the accommodation until our staff eventually arrive. It’s a mess but I have to say I’m pretty proud of the understaffed team we are somehow running
the business with. Each and everyone one of them you see charging around the chippy have been working like blue ass flys working 70 hour weeks - 6 days a week for the last 2 months and I’m incredibly grateful to them all for keeping the business running as well as it has.
James and the girls are going to be holding fort for 10 days from today. The hours will remain at 9.30 close and we will update you of any further changes, just please be kind and bear with us. As always I thank you for your patience and your constant support.

Hi all

Well the tiling is complete and the range has had its bi-yearly deep clean. We’ve been back at it this morning starting with 350kgs of spuds ready to re-open tonight at 5pm.

Good Morning!
