May I have your attention all homeowners and business owners? I want to shed light on a crucial issue that has been plaguing our society for years now. The shocking truth is that cable theft in electrical wiring systems is on the rise and it is alarming! Yes, you heard it right. As an experienced electrical contractor, I feel it is my responsibility to bring awareness to such issues by sharing this on my Facebook post.

In recent weeks, I have received three reports from clients who have had their home wiring stolen by criminals. This is a devastating experience for the customers, especially since cable prices have increased significantly. These thieves typically strike at night or in quiet areas during the day. They use car jacks to break through any burglar-proofing and then remove the copper wires and air-conditioning pipes from the building. The stolen materials are put into sacks and taken away to a hiding place where the thieves burn the cables to remove the insulation and extract the pure copper to sell in the market. Even a small amount of copper can bring in a large sum of money for the thieves, making them desperate to steal from unsuspecting victims. Most of these cable thieves observe their targets during the day and strike at night.

So, what can you do to protect property from cable theft?

Security! Have someone live on the property. A family man who has a stay-at-home wife is a preferred choice!! Although some homeowners have grave worries about the behaviors of these squatters, in my opinion, it's by far the best and cheapest security measure you can take to prevent thieves from stealing your cables.

In addition to this, you can consider putting aggressive dogs that can bark to raise an alarm to neighbors whenever there's an intruder. The downside of this is that these thieves may use poisoned meat to kiiil or incapacitate the dogs!

Thirdly, employ a dedicated security guard who must be on the property 24/7. Thieves may never attack your property when you put some of these measures in place.

In conclusion, cable theft is a serious issue that everyone should be aware of. Don't wait until it's too late to take action.
