Meridian Port Services Ltd (MPS) has awarded a contract to Nesstra Ghana Ltd. as part of Phase 2 of the Tema Port Expansion Project. This project adds 27 hectares of yard storage and 15 high-voltage electric gantry cranes to Terminal 3. The upgraded backup power plant, now 21 MVA, ensures uninterrupted operation of 12 quay cranes and 41 yard cranes during grid outages, making Terminal 3 one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s most efficient ports.

The contract signing ceremony on May 29, 2024, witnessed the expression of confidence from Mr. Mohamed Samara, CEO of MPS, in Kohler and their official distributor, Nesstra Ghana Ltd., to deliver on their promises. The decision to entrust Kohler and Nesstra with this crucial project stems from their proven track record in providing tailored mechanical and electrical solutions.

REQUEST: Client needed a twin pump with float switches to fill the rooftop tanks, one pump for the boosting of the water from the rooftop to the last floor, and a fire fighting pump working at 4.1 l/s @3.5bar pressure. Rooftop pumps must have a IPX6.

SOLUTION: Nesstra Ghana Ltd. provided a 2K90/100T pumpset with one float switch for the dry run and one float switch for the tank filling (bulb float type). As booster pump, one
e.sybox mini3 with its e.sycover to reach the IPX6, and a 2 E.SYBOX MAX 85/120T
(already with IPX6) for the fire fighting.
